Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Data Entry Specialist to support our Human Resources department by accurately managing and entering employee data, HR records, and related documentation. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity of employee information, HR systems, and compliance records across our construction organization.
This position mirrors our existing Data Entry Specialist role currently supporting construction operations, and applies the same standard of accuracy, reliability, and deadline accountability — this time to the HR function. The right candidate is organized, discreet with sensitive employee information, and dependable in meeting the recurring deadlines that keep HR operations running smoothly.
- Collect, review, and accurately enter HR-related data into the company's HR systems, including employee records, onboarding information, status changes, and personnel updates
- Process and input new hire documentation, ensuring all required forms and records are complete, accurate, and filed correctly
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS — personal information, job details, compensation data, and employment history
- Verify data for completeness and accuracy before entry, flagging missing or inconsistent information for HR team review
- Support benefits enrollment data entry, including tracking elections, changes, and updates across open enrollment and qualifying life events
- Assist with entering and tracking HR compliance documentation including I-9 records, certifications, training completions, and policy acknowledgments
- Communicate with HR team members and internal departments to resolve discrepancies or gather missing employee information
- Maintain organized digital records of HR documents and ensure filing conventions are followed consistently
- Meet daily and weekly deadlines for data entry to support HR reporting cycles, payroll processing, and compliance requirements
- Assist with basic HR reporting and data audits as requested by the HR team
- Handle all employee data with strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Qualifications
Required
- Previous data entry or administrative experience — HR experience is a strong plus
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy — employee data must be entered correctly every time
- Ability to manage repetitive tasks efficiently and consistently meet deadlines
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
- Strong written communication skills for coordinating with the HR team and internal departments
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Self-directed and reliable in a remote work environment
Preferred
- Prior experience in an HR department, HR administrative role, or HRIS data entry capacity
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms or HR management systems — experience with any system is transferable
- Experience in the construction industry or supporting a multi-site organization
- Familiarity with onboarding, benefits administration, or HR compliance documentation workflows
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Your data entry is accurate the first time — you catch errors before they become problems
- Employee records in your care are always current, complete, and organized
- You handle sensitive HR information the way it should be handled — with total discretion, every time
- You meet your deadlines consistently and communicate proactively if something is at risk of slipping
- You are the kind of reliable, detail-focused team member an HR department can count on day after day
