The Opportunity
Our client builds the AI agent that helps independent restaurant and F&B owners run their business - being found online, powering commerce, and bringing guests back. Their platform is entering its next phase: scaling from single-tenant foundations into a full multi-tenant SaaS product, with a growing surface of integrations (Shopify, Mendrix) and a cloud footprint expanding from GCP into AWS.
You'll join as Full-Stack Tech Lead, owning both the code and the direction of a small, fast-moving engineering team. This is not a hands-off leadership role - most of your time stays in the codebase, shipping backend and frontend work directly. The rest goes into architecture decisions, code quality, and mentoring the developers around you.
What you'll be doing
The core of the work is building and scaling the client's product: a Django backend and React/TypeScript frontend serving orders, users, shipping, and partner integrations. Around that core, expect architecture ownership for the multi-tenant SaaS transition, cloud infrastructure work on GCP (with AWS on the horizon), and the day-to-day of running an engineering team - code reviews, testing standards, CI/CD, and mentoring.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and extend the core backend (Django) and frontend (React + TypeScript)
- Design and build APIs for users, orders, shipping, and partner tools
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party platforms such as Shopify and Mendrix
- Scale and optimize cloud hosting on GCP, with AWS on the roadmap
- Architect and scale the platform toward multi-tenant SaaS
- Set and enforce standards for code quality, testing (TDD/BDD), and CI/CD
- Mentor developers and help grow the engineering team
- Collaborate with product, design, and operations to keep technical plans aligned with business goals
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years as a full-stack developer, fluent in Python (Django) and JavaScript/TypeScript (React)
- Track record building and scaling production SaaS applications
- Strong PostgreSQL and ORM experience
- Team leadership experience - balancing hands-on coding with mentoring and technical decision-making
- Testing built into your workflow (Pytest, React Testing Library), not an afterthought
- Fluent with Git workflows and CI/CD tooling (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines)
- Deep experience building and integrating APIs - REST, JWT Auth, and third-party platforms like Shopify and Mendrix
- Strong command of modern frontend frameworks (React, MUI), with an eye for fast, responsive interfaces
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Firebase (Auth, Hosting) or Google Analytics
- Prior work building multi-tenant SaaS architectures
- Background in e-commerce, marketplaces, or scaling startups
Benefits
- Unrestricted AI Stack & Premium Gear: Fully paid licenses for Cursor, Claude Pro, etc.
- Total Autonomy (Remote-First): No filler meetings, no Jira bloat, no micromanagement. You own the workflow. We care about shipped systems in production, not logged hours.
- Direct Impact: You'll work face-to-face with our CEO, CTO & VPs and directly with client leadership.
- Frontier Engineering Culture: Build alongside elite engineers who are shipping systems that drive real business decisions. Backed by continuous growth and a strong knowledge-sharing culture (check our YouTube).
