Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, problem-obsessed, and automation-minded Founding Engineer to join our core centralized engineering collective in a full-time remote capacity open to qualified technical builders resident anywhere across India. In this foundational individual contributor and technical leadership seat, your mandate is to architect, develop, and implement the core backend engines, advanced workflows, and engineering culture required to power our global enterprise automation systems. Shifting completely away from routine website updates, minor localized dashboard adjustments, or basic administrative task logging, you will run an active distributed systems, artificial intelligence interface, and relational data architecture laboratory—working directly beside our cofounders and senior operators to solve our highest-leverage engineering problems. This position requires an engineering veteran with early-stage startup DNA who maps out low-latency distributed systems fluidly natively using Python microservices, constructs secure data models cleanly natively leveraging relational database frameworks with Python ORMs, and commands advanced agentic developer environments (encompassing Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor) confidently under strict North American shift patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• AI-Native Engineering Function Leadership: Formulate, build, and lead an elite AI-native engineering discipline, establishing strict code compliance rules, rapid feature shipping velocities, and uncompromised production discipline.
• Core Distributed Systems Improvement: Refine and scale our core backend microservices, data ingestion paths, high-concurrency search engines, quoting matrices, data management modules, payments, and reporting pipelines cleanly natively utilizing Python (Django and FastAPI frameworks).
• Agentic Harness and Tool Design: Design and optimize the core technical harnesses that make agentic engineering reliable, writing custom repository instructions, skills packages, Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools, and pre-commit hooks.
• Advanced Development Interface Execution: Utilize cutting-edge toolsets like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor as your primary development environment to ship production code frequently, pushing models to their maximum technical thresholds.
• Safe Non-Engineer Contribution Paths: Construct robust deployment guardrails and programmatic review gates at key friction points, enabling non-technical operators to leverage AI tools safely without risking database or codebase stability.
• Operational Systems Transformation: Deconstruct messy, ambiguous business or operational bottlenecks into simple, technical specifications, automated tests, metrics evals, and reviewable artifacts.
• Elite Engineering Team Recruitment: Recruit, coach, and raise the code craftsmanship bar across a lean, high-performing engineering pod or technical cell.
• Cross-Functional Value Extraction: Interlock closely with Growth, Sales, Operations, and Finance leaders to deploy enterprise software that directly improves company revenue, operational margin, and client experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional history running advanced software engineering operations, backend platform development, systems optimization, full-stack application architecture, or startup technology consulting.
• Expert-tier capability building asynchronous web engines, handling complex transaction workflows, and managing server layers cleanly natively utilizing Python environments (specifically demonstrating mastery over Django and FastAPI ecosystems).
• Practical operational familiarity organizing relational databases, optimizing index pathways, and executing low-overhead queries natively using SQL nodes with PostgreSQL configurations.
• Advanced Agent Expert-User Status: Daily hands-on technical experience using coding agents, showcasing a deep, uncompromised understanding of their structural limitations, overfitting bugs, and confidence hallucinations.
• A proven, verifiable technical portfolio, GitHub repository, write-up, or demonstration showing an advanced full-stack product or multi-tenant system that you personally engineered from scratch.
• A powerful systems mindset, highlighting the ability to independently translate ambiguous operational constraints into highly durable, structured, and decoupled technical designs.
• Extreme dedication to technical verification, prioritizing rigorous automated unit testing, log tracing, and hard empirical data evidence above subjective vibes.

• Prior technical experience building custom internal productivity extensions, CRM automation engines, web scraping applications, or workflow orchestration dashboards.
• Direct hands-on experience handling communication api integrations (such as Slack, WhatsApp, or HubSpot webhooks) or payment gateway components.
• Background as a previous startup cofounder, early-stage employee, or independent builder who has scaled an app to meaningful commercial revenue or active user adoption.
• Familiarity establishing organizational AI guardrails, including IP protection protocols, secrets handling practices, and evaluation frameworks.
