About Anomaly: Founded in 2020, Anomaly uses cutting-edge AI and massive healthcare transaction data pools to decode complex health insurance payer behaviors and close the persistent knowledge gap between healthcare providers and insurance payers. Our proprietary AI core engines, including Smart Response, analyze hundreds of millions of medical encounters in real time to intercept shifting payer rules, resolve claim denial patterns, and reverse systemic revenue loss for enterprise healthcare networks.
Role Summary
As a Forward-Deployed Software Engineer at Anomaly, you will act as a critical technical bridge connecting our client-facing growth divisions with core engineering squads. This is a high-impact role where you will rapidly design, build, and deploy custom analytics frameworks, bespoke tools, and scalable software pipelines that create immediate operational value for our customers (including massive hospital systems, enterprise medical laboratories, and more). You will determine whether a technical hurdle is best addressed through workflow refactoring, deeper pipeline analytics, or specialized custom code layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Tooling Architecture: Design, test, and ship specialized software utilities and operational analysis scripts to resolve complex, unique claims-processing hurdles faced by enterprise partners.
- Product Feature Ingestion: Bridge client integrations tightly into our core ML suite—including **Detect** (time-series dashboards tracking behavior shifts), **Predict** (high-throughput claim denial prediction API pipelines), and **Recover** (algorithmic ranking engines prioritizing high-dollar reversals).
- Requirements Translation: Collaborate directly with health network executives and medical billing teams to map real-world medical billing workflows into clean product roadmap specifications.
- Technical Feedback Iteration: Channel direct client data signals back to product management teams to guide long-term technical architecture patterns and engineering benchmarks.
- Agile System Maintenance: Write clean, maintainable code configurations to interact with transactional databases, managing rapid feature rollouts under fluid project guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience operating inside a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.
- Solid foundational mastery of Computer Science mechanics, software design patterns, and data structures.
- Expertise writing complex, high-performance database queries in SQL and scripting application logic via Python.
- Familiarity with healthcare analytics pipelines, with specific exposure evaluating medical claim structures, clearinghouse data routing, or standard medical coding parameters (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
- High-agency operator capable of building out robust technical systems even when confronted with highly ambiguous or shifting client constraints.
- Excellent communication and consultation skills to explain intricate algorithmic topics to non-technical client teams and build long-term enterprise trust.
- Travel Parameters: Fully remote framework based within the United States, with willingness and flexibility to periodically travel to U.S. client sites with reasonable advance notice.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to engineer state-of-the-art machine learning products that directly solve multi-billion dollar financial leaks inside the U.S. healthcare industry.
- Highly autonomous, flat organizational culture built around transparency, tech-first innovation, and collective empathy.
- 100% remote working flexibility backed by robust enterprise engineering infrastructure and advanced developer tooling frameworks.
