Position Overview

We are seeking a highly autonomous, code-fluent, and development-oriented Forward Deployed Engineer to turn our most strategic enterprise deployments into production-ready success stories under a permanent, full-time remote configuration open across Europe (including Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, and the United Kingdom, with a primary hub in London). As the founding authority in this high-leverage client-facing engineering role, you will lead custom integration efforts, embed directly inside messy customer environments for focused 5-day on-site sprint cycles, and build reusable automation blocks. Shifting completely away from routine non-regulated data transcription loops, front-line helpdesk response ticketing, or entry-level web layout adjustments, you will operate an active multi-tenant SDK extension, custom integration pipeline routing, and telemetry verification laboratory. Partnering directly beside Deployment Strategists, Core Product, and R&D cells, you will bridge the analytical boundary between abstract business pain points and robust backend services. This position requires an integration veteran with an extensive full-stack or backend engineering background who handles system layers fluidly natively using Backend, Python, and Technical Support primitives, commands complete operational intimacy with REST/GraphQL APIs and authentication patterns, and travels up to 40% of the time across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Enterprise Deployment Governance: Lead, architect, and deploy high-impact workflow orchestrations for strategic corporate accounts, embedding on-site for time-boxed 5-day sprints to construct production-ready applications natively utilizing Backend engineering rules.
• Integration and Node Engineering: Design, code, and optimize bespoke custom integration components, custom nodes, and plugins to extend n8n’s platform capabilities natively deploying Python or TypeScript logic blocks.
• Technical Discovery & Solution Design: Analyze convoluted enterprise infrastructure barriers and map complex runtime environments, converting ambiguous operational constraints into clean, repeatable technical blueprints.
• Product R&D Telemetry Triage: Establish a seamless technical feedback loop back to core Product and Engineering divisions, document technical code gaps, and synthesize prioritization signals from live implementation learnings.
• Internal Playbook Automation: Package reusable automation scripts, custom connectors, and structural data transformation profiles, contributing directly to our unified internal systems playbook repository.
• Tier-Three Customer Support Engineering: Provide high-level escalation troubleshooting, log data auditing, and token allocation tuning within live partner environments natively leveraging Technical Support standards.
• Technical Judgment & Guardrails: Maintain a product-minded execution focus, confidently identifying when to build, when to push back to prevent technical debt, and how to avoid gold-plating architectures.
• Cross-Functional Technical Synthesis: Build trusted relationships across engineering directors, IT operators, and non-technical commercial leads to streamline platform adoption goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Possess a comprehensive professional full-stack or backend software engineering track record, with documented history single-handedly shipping production-grade automation pipelines, scalable services, or core APIs.
• Expert Integration-Building Command: Meticulous practical experience configuring, testing, and debugging complex network interactions, webhook protocols, event-driven systems, and varied authentication structures (OAuth, API Keys, JWT).
• Grounded product-minded execution instincts with a proven ability to differentiate between a temporary localized customer workaround and a reusable platform feature enhancement.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and textual presentation communication strengths in English, with complete confidence managing direct customer relations inside high-stakes enterprise technical architectures.
• Travel Readiness: Absolute willingness and freedom to undertake regular travel roughly 30–40% of the time across Europe to facilitate technical on-site customer engagements.
• Location & Work Model Context: Position operates under remote parameters open to qualified software authorities based permanently in **Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, or the United Kingdom (London)**.
