Job Summary:
SmithRx is seeking an exceptional Finance Operations Analyst / Staff Accountant to join its growing Finance team. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, this role will be an essential operational owner within day-to-day accounting functions. Responsibilities include corporate tax compliance, cash reconciliations, corporate card management, and member reimbursements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and excited to drive core accounting workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Indirect Tax Filing: Prepare accurate and timely indirect tax filings.
- State Registration Filings: Ensure various state reports are filed accurately and on time in collaboration with the company’s filing agent.
- Member Reimbursements & Escheatment: Oversee the member reimbursement process, including processing physical checks, performing month-end reconciliations, and managing the company’s escheatment process.
- Cash Management & Reconciliations: Clear daily cash transactions and prepare comprehensive month-end cash account reconciliations.
- Corporate Credit Card Program: Manage corporate credit card activity by coding and booking expenses accurately and performing month-end card reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of hands-on corporate accounting or operational accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (US GAAP) and general ledger operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency with cash reconciliations, expense processing, and multi-state/corporate compliance tasks.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet key monthly deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a track record of effective collaboration across internal teams and third-party vendor partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and experience with/ability to quickly learn modern accounting systems (e.g., Sage Intacct).
