About the opportunity
As Finance Manager, you will be part of a high-performing team working on initiatives that are critical to finmid’s growth and financial infrastructure. The role spans financial planning, capital markets, and business operations, with close collaboration across Product, Commercial, and Investor-facing teams. You will work closely with senior leadership on high-impact financial and strategic topics.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys ownership, thrives in fast-moving environments, and wants to play a meaningful role in shaping how a scaling fintech operates financially.
In this role, you will
- Analyze key drivers of the business and support strategic decision-making with rigorous financial analysis.
- Drive complex, cross-functional projects involving Capital Markets, Finance, Product, and Tech.
- Support financing transactions, ongoing investor communication, and reporting.
- Own and continuously improve forecasting models and performance tracking processes.
- Help design and implement financial and operational processes as the company scales.
- Prepare high-quality internal and external reporting, including Board materials.
- Provide ad hoc analysis to support leadership and operational decision-making.
What you’ll need to rock this
- 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or top-tier management consulting
- Intellectually curious, fast-learning, and thrive on solving complex problems
- You are hands-on and action-oriented; you’re not afraid to build slides one hour and join a client call the next
- Comfort operating in environments with ambiguity and evolving priorities
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with a high bar for quality and precision
- A structured way of thinking combined with the ability to translate analysis into action
- The resilience to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Clear, concise communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders
- Fluency in English; German is a plus
- Have a bias for ownership; you treat the business like it's your own
Growth path
At finmid, growth follows ownership and impact rather than a fixed path. In this role, you will progressively take on more responsibility as the business scales, from owning individual workstreams to shaping broader financial and operational decisions.
Depending on your strengths and interests, this role can evolve toward
- A Senior Finance / Strategic Finance position with broader ownership across planning, capital markets, and performance management
- A lead role on complex, high-impact projects, including financing initiatives and cross-functional scaling topics
- Exposure to people leadership, or functional ownership, over time, as the team grows
You’ll work closely with senior leadership and have meaningful visibility into how key decisions are made, with clear opportunities to expand scope based on performance.

Finmid
View Company Profilefinmid (operating under finmid.com, legally finmid GmbH) is the premier, enterprise-grade embedded lending infrastructure provider, B2B financial technology pioneer, and capital orchestration powerhouse engineered to act as the definitive, single-API integration layer for global marketplaces, delivery networks, and vertical SaaS platforms across Europe. Co-founded in 2021 by veteran fintech architects Max Schertel and Alexander Talkanitsa (both formerly key infrastructure builders at European neobank N26), the company completely eliminates the severe systemic friction of traditional commercial credit—where small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face slow processing timelines, rigid collateral demands, and abysmal approval rates from legacy banks, while B2B software platforms struggle with intense regulatory complexity when trying to offer internal monetization options—by deploying an advanced, portfolio-driven financing matrix. Moving far beyond traditional, passive merchant cash providers or standalone lending hubs, finmid natively unifies dynamic transactional revenue advances, automated term loans, white-label Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) structures, and custom corporate business cards directly into a high-availability developer workspace. Operating live across 30+ European markets, its infrastructure acts as the underlying credit engine for leading on-demand giants including Wolt (powering Wolt Capital) and Glovo, empowering local merchants to secure frictionless financing options in under 5 minutes with automatic 24-hour payouts. Validating its high-velocity market growth, the enterprise has secured over $37 million (€35 million) in venture capital backing, anchored by a prominent Series A funding framework supported by elite global capital partners including Earlybird Venture Capital, Blossom Capital, 20VC, and IVP. Under the hood, its technology core bypasses outdated, manual credit score metrics by parsing multi-dimensional, real-time transaction telemetry directly from partner platform APIs, yielding an exceptional 90% merchant credit eligibility rate and driving transaction volumes while lowering portfolio churn. What sets finmid apart is its uncompromising dedication to replacing fragile, fragmented retail business credit structures with absolute embedded liquidity predictability, developer-first iframe flexibility, and frictionless regulatory umbrella compliance; by bridging the gap between performance-intensive financial data engineering and the localized cash-flow needs of thousands of everyday European merchants, the corporation remains a definitive cornerstone of modern algorithmic fintech and global marketplace infrastructure transformation.
