Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptionally analytical, tech-savvy, and intellectually curious Finance Intern to join our centralized Corporate Accounting and Special Projects squad under a 4-month temporary remote framework within Canada, running from September to December 2026. Operating as an embedded contributor inside our global Finance function, you will step up to claim direct audit compilation support, compliance tracking, and cross-departmental data synchronization accountability across our accelerating corporate ecosystem. Shifting completely away from routine administrative document archiving, passive customer support chat logging, or low-stakes textual copywriting, you will run an active budget variance analysis, technical accounting research, and automated workflow modeling laboratory—partnering face-to-face with our Chief Accounting Office, internal FP&A teams, system controllers, and distributed operational leads. This position requires an adaptable, detail-obsessed student practitioner who evaluates financial records fluidly natively using Accountant best practices, analyzes data patterns cleanly within advanced Excel sheets, and directs ad hoc corporate projects confidently to support high-velocity executive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit and Compliance Assistance: Support the corporate finance core by compiling, reviewing, and organizing critical internal documentation datasets for external audits and global regulatory compliance evaluations natively utilizing Accountant workflows.
- Technical Accounting Research: Partner directly with the Chief Accounting Office and FP&A pods to investigate complex, evolving technical accounting matters, checking transaction parameters against industry standards.
- Budget Analysis and Modeling: Collaborate on specialized finance assignments, parsing multi-tier budget inputs, highlighting variance trends, and structuring detailed cost-allocation data tables.
- AI-Driven Workflow Innovation: Actively explore, implement, and leverage modern generative tools and smart automation assets to summarize transaction context, pressure-test model assumptions, and convert complex tables into clear executive narratives.
- Ad Hoc Cross-Department Support: Provide data-driven execution support on miscellaneous financial projects originating from diverse international business units, preserving strict data hygiene and internal security controls.
- Process Efficiency Optimizations: Investigate established sub-ledger processes persistently, proposing smart iterations to reduce manual errors, eliminate organizational fluff, and scale processing speed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary academic program specializing in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related technical business discipline.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication strengths, displaying a highly collaborative team spirit coupled with the personal confidence to take on novel challenges and drive them to completion.
- A profound growth mindset anchored in humility, characterized by a fearlessness to ask fundamental exploratory questions and a relentless drive to learn from errors.
- Strong structural interest in modern technology, cloud-based productivity infrastructures, and advanced cybersecurity software utilities.
- Location Context: Position operates under a strict remote-first geographic track open exclusively to qualified student practitioners residing and working permanently from a home setup within Canada.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Intermediate-to-advanced spreadsheet mapping depth inside Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including practical familiarity managing pivot tables, logical arguments, and index configurations.
- Prior customer-centric or stakeholder-facing service experience, showcasing excellent follow-up discipline and professional clarity.
What We Offer
- Vetted, Competitive Tech Intern Compensation Blueprint: Attractive, experience-calibrated hourly intern compensation tier aligned accurately with premier Canadian technology sector metrics.
- Full 100% remote-first operational flexibility, empowering you to coordinate corporate finance programs from your optimized Canadian home workspace.
- Generous paid time-off provisions, offering 2.08 days of PTO per month worked (equating to 1.5 full work weeks of vacation per 4-month term), alongside company-wide wellness days (1 per quarter).
- Comprehensive virtual onboarding via 100% access to 1Password University, professional mentoring channels, and interactive development sessions.
- An active, inclusive internship community featuring dedicated monthly social mixers, networking events, and direct visibility to executive leadership teams.
- The ultimate professional sandbox to add a globally respected, Forbes Cloud 100 enterprise brand directly to your portfolio, shaping the future of financial data management alongside elite industry operators.
