Backed by investors like Accel, Naspers/Prosus, and angels Sheryl Sandberg and Dustin Moskovitz, Ema operates in Silicon Valley, London, Bangalore, and Vancouver, pioneering Agentic AI in production.
Role Overview
Ema is hiring a Field Marketing Manager based in London to build and manage their on-the-ground presence across the UK and Europe. Responsibilities include attending industry events, tradeshows, executive dinners, and sponsored programs in priority markets: the UK, France, DACH, and Benelux, with expansion into the Nordics and wider Europe. This role acts as the bridge between BDR, Sales, AI Strategy, Product Marketing, and Design teams, converting live experiences into qualified pipeline.
The candidate will be Ema’s first field marketer in the region, collaborating with the US Field Marketing Manager. The Marketing Lead sets the global event strategy and budget, while the UK/Europe manager owns the regional calendar—selecting events, cities, and execution plans.
Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced startup environments, act independently, and solve problems without waiting for approval. Experience running field programs across multiple European markets, managing tight budgets, and executing diverse events (booths, executive dinners, etc.) is required.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Event Planning
- Build and maintain the UK and Europe event calendar within the global strategy and budget.
- Recommend conferences, tradeshows, and sponsorships tailored to target accounts, pipeline, and cost per market (e.g., London vs. Munich vs. Amsterdam).
- Collaborate with the US Field Marketing Manager to share best practices, reuse assets, and maintain consistency between programs.
Event Execution & Operations
- Plan, manage, and execute logistics for industry conferences, tradeshows, and Ema-hosted events (e.g., executive roundtables, dinners, meetups) across the UK and Europe.
- Oversee on-site operations: booth design, staffing, signage, swag, shipping, A/V, catering, and speaker logistics to ensure nothing is overlooked.
- Handle cross-border logistics unique to Europe, such as shipping and customs between the UK and EU, local venues, suppliers, and GDPR-compliant lead capture.
- Evaluate sponsorship opportunities, negotiate vendor contracts, and manage event budgets to maximize ROI.
Pipeline & Sales Alignment
- Align event programming with target accounts and pipeline goals in each market, working closely with BDR and Sales teams.
- Coordinate pre-event outreach, booth activations, and post-event follow-ups to drive lead conversion.
- Ensure all event leads are passed to Sales efficiently—no leads should be lost.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with AI Strategists, Product Marketing, and Design to ensure demos, collateral, and messaging are event-ready, on-brand, and tailored to local audiences.
- Support broader demand-generation campaigns, including regional activations and partner co-marketing events.
- Work across time zones with US-based marketing and leadership, including early-evening calls.
Measurement & Optimization
- Track and report on event performance by market, including leads generated, pipeline influenced, cost per lead, attendance, and deal acceleration. Share insights to improve the program.
- Analyze data to identify what’s working and what’s noise, using findings to justify future investments.
What You Bring
- 5–7+ years of field marketing, event marketing, or demand-gen experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise technology, with a track record of running events in the UK and at least one other European market. Startup experience is mandatory—you’ve built programs, not just inherited them.
- A deep understanding of the European event circuit, including expectations for markets like London tech weeks, Paris, and DACH industry shows.
- Exceptional project management skills to juggle 5+ concurrent events across different countries and stages without missing deadlines. Proficiency in spreadsheets, timelines, and run-of-show documents.
- A hands-on operator who thrives in fast-paced environments. You’re the person handling logistics like zip-tying cables to a booth at 6 AM, managing customs for swag shipments, and sending recap emails before the Eurostar arrives.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, partnering naturally with Sales, BDRs, Product Marketing, and executives—including colleagues in different time zones—without needing micromanagement.
- Experience with HubSpot and marketing automation platforms to track attribution and ROI, along with a practical grasp of GDPR for event data compliance.
- Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to streamline daily tasks like drafting event briefs or analyzing post-event data. As an AI company, you’re expected to leverage AI in your workflow.
- Comfort with ambiguity and fast-moving priorities. Budgets shift, events get added last minute, and you adapt quickly. This is a fast-growing Series B company—playbooks aren’t provided.
- High agency and ownership mindset. As the first field marketer in Europe, you’ll identify gaps and fill them proactively without waiting for direction.
Location & Travel
- Based in/near London, with a hybrid work model from the London office.
- Expect to travel up to 40% across the UK and Europe, with occasional trips to the US.
