Engineering Manager

About the Role: Fingerprint empowers developers to stop online fraud at the source. We are hiring an Engineering Manager to own the day-to-day execution, people leadership, and technical delivery of the Smart Signals team. Smart Signals is the front line of our fraud and device intelligence capabilities, producing critical signals like Bot Detection and Browser tampering detection.

What You'll Do

• Lead a team of 8–10 engineers, owning 1:1s, performance calibrations, career development, and hiring.
• Drive sprint planning and roadmap delivery while managing scope, urgency, and quality tradeoffs.
• Maintain technical depth in the signals stack to review designs, challenge architectural decisions, and surface risks.
• Represent Smart Signals in technical discussions across Engineering and proactively manage cross-team dependencies.
• Partner with Engineering Leadership and Product to shape signal strategy and translate research findings into executable engineering plans.

What You Bring

• 4+ years of experience managing a team of 8–10 engineers with ownership of performance management and hiring.
• Technical depth in backend systems, with experience building or operating production backend services at scale.
• Concrete track record of delivery and cross-functional collaboration with PMs and research/data partners.
• Bonus: Exposure to fraud, risk, or device intelligence systems, and experience working alongside ML engineers or data scientists shipping models to production.
