Engineering Manager

About the Role: Netflix is seeking an Engineering Manager for Privacy Infrastructure Engineering (PIE) to lead a team of software engineers in developing and maintaining privacy-protective features and tools. You will partner with Privacy & Data Protection Engineering leadership to define a consumer-centric approach for data collection, consent, and privacy controls, seamlessly integrating these solutions into our complex data ecosystem.

What You'll Do

• Lead a team of software engineers to develop privacy solutions, automate privacy rights management, and mitigate data protection risks.
• Partner cross-functionally to define and execute strategies for data collection, consent, and privacy controls.
• Drive privacy and data protection across the data lifecycle by developing and evaluating robust tooling.
• Develop strategic product roadmaps to improve existing tooling for privacy rights and metadata catalog management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders spanning Data Platform Infrastructure, Data Sciences Engineering, Security, Legal, and Product teams.

What You Bring

• Proven leadership experience managing software development teams and building privacy/security solutions in a large-scale, data-driven environment.
• System design and full-stack development background with previous experience as a hands-on individual contributor.
• Deep understanding of privacy and security frameworks, data classification, data protection controls, and records retention.
• Experience building tools for consent management, data use limitations, and/or data protection controls.
• Bonus: Enthusiasm for GenAI as a force multiplier for scaling privacy and data protection.
