Engineering Manager

About the Role: Crunchbase is a predictive solution that provides intelligence on private companies. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-functional engineering team composed of frontend and backend engineers responsible for delivering end-to-end product functionality. Your role is to guide technical execution, mentor engineers, and ensure strong technical decision-making.

What You'll Do

• Own the team's technical outcomes by guiding architectural decisions and ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.
• Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, providing regular coaching, actionable feedback, and supporting individual growth.
• Lead technical design discussions and code reviews to uphold standards for performance, quality, and observability.
• Partner closely with Product and Design to translate product goals into clear engineering plans and manage tradeoffs.
• Support AI-enabled product experiences and partner with Security/Compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR).

What You Bring

• 4+ years of experience in senior or staff Engineering roles, with 1+ year in a management position.
• Experience leading engineering teams responsible for delivering production SaaS products.
• Strong technical background with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs across frontend and backend systems.
• Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing engineers.
• Bonus: Familiarity with modern frontend architectures, shared platform components, and integrating AI-enabled features.
