About Eagle Engineering: Eagle is a premier, internationally recognized engineering transformation powerhouse, artificial intelligence laboratory, and infrastructure technology pioneer operating on an absolute mission to protect, automate, and revolutionize how the built environment is designed, executed, and maintained across North America. Backed by the elite tech-investment firm Lightspeed Venture Partners, Eagle acquires and modernizes civil, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) engineering firms by embedding applied AI, advanced computer vision, and frontier data automation networks directly into traditional workflows. Operating as an advanced engineering sandbox dedicated to equipping designers with the state-of-the-art systems needed to tackle global infrastructure, clean energy transition, and climate resilience challenges, Eagle is executing an ambitious trajectory to establish the most valuable, talent-dense engineering enterprise in the United States. Driven by a high-performance, developer-friendly corporate philosophy centered around high personal agency, candid feedback, and rigorous systems execution, the firm provides domain experts with an uncompromised remote canvas to leverage breakthrough generative utilities, manipulate multi-tier design layers, and deploy category-defining software architectures globally.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-obsessed, and systems-minded Electrical Engineer (Contract) to join our core centralized Product development division under a flexible, part-time remote contract capacity open to qualified technical authorities resident anywhere in the United States. Operating upon our core structural thesis that 85% of what modern building engineers do today is theoretically ripe for machine learning optimization, yet less than 5% has been touched by frontier tools, you will step up to claim true individual operational and strategic accountability over workflow translation, clash-detection taxonomies, and early prototype pressure-testing. Shifting completely away from routine standalone building layout drafting, monotone blueprint formatting, minor component scheduling, or simple administrative checking loops, you will run an active workflow decomposition, software evaluation, and cross-discipline integration laboratory—partnering face-to-face with our product managers, software developers, and senior operators. This position requires an enterprise MEP or infrastructure design veteran with an active PE license (or equivalent senior craft depth) who maps out complex electrical distribution trees fluidly natively using Electrical Engineering principles, audits multi-tier coordinate boundaries cleanly natively leveraging CAD Designer platforms within Revit MEP and AutoCAD configurations, and commands advanced electrical calculation suites confidently under flexible, advisory scheduling parameters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Lifecycle Workflow Decomposition: Walk product and engineering squads through your end-to-end, day-to-day, and project-to-project electrical engineering workflows in extensive, granular detail to extract core operational logic cleanly natively utilizing Electrical Engineering tenets.
  • Anonymized Project Architecture Case Studies: Present and dissect real-world, appropriately anonymized building projects to demonstrate the exact design intent, load calculations, and regulatory parameters backing code choices.
  • Rigorous Prototype Pressure-Testing: Actively evaluate early software iterations, feature wireframes, and applied AI generation tools, providing candid, high-signal feedback identifying where utilities save operational time versus where they add risk or fall apart against field realities.
  • Cross-Discipline Clash Mapping: Map out and audit the precise physical and technical boundaries where electrical systems hand off to mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural grids, diagnosing where coordination pipelines and clash detection workflows break down natively leveraging CAD Designer platforms.
  • Isolating Engineering Judgment: Systematically distill and catalog specific design phases, distinguishing irreducible, high-level professional engineering judgment from repetitive, manual formatting tasks ripe for automated machine learning processing.
  • Calculation Tool Parameter Verification: Validate software calculations against industry benchmarks, reviewing technical parameters touching power distribution, lux levels, and short-circuit matrices.
  • Meticulous Confidentiality Preservation: Maintain strict compliance with organizational privacy standards, ensuring no proprietary datasets or client-specific records are ever exposed during testing loops.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Professional Licensing Requirement: An active, verified Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent documented senior-tier engineering leadership history commanding complex building configurations.
  • A minimum of 5 years of verified professional history running advanced electrical building systems engineering, MEP design management, corporate infrastructure development, or technology workflow consulting.
  • Expert-tier capability modeling electrical distribution trees, designing low-voltage configurations, and setting up high-fidelity lighting matrices natively utilizing Electrical Engineering workflows.
  • Practical operational familiarity navigating multi-tenant building profiles, isolating physical coordinate interferences, and managing component files natively using CAD Designer software suites (specifically requiring mastery of Revit MEP and AutoCAD configurations).
  • Demonstrated hands-on command over specialized electrical calculation and simulation software engines (such as SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or AGi32 environments).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication attributes in business-fluent English, enabling uncompromised confidence when detailing sophisticated physical sciences and engineering constraints before non-technical software engineering cells.
  • Schedule Flexibility Alignment: Continuous availability to commit a few hours per week to execute remote advisory checks, with the complete autonomy to schedule sessions flexibly around your primary full-time professional practice.
  • Location Context: Position open to qualified engineering authorities based permanently and resident within the borders of the United States to operate under a flexible 1099 independent contractor remote framework (requiring standard W-9 documentation).

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior background participating directly in tech-forward architectural engineering squads, building automation platforms, or testing emerging generative design tools.
  • Direct operational familiarity with machine learning workflows, python-based automation scripts, or programmatic object extractions from BIM models.
  • An opinionated, optimization-focused personal philosophy regarding broken legacy software paradigms within the AEC sector, coupled with an active interest in harnessing AI to solve massive infrastructure, energy, and climate issues.

What We Offer

  • Vetted Applied-AI Sector 1099 Blueprint: A highly competitive, premium contract compensation scale structured transparently between $100.00 and $150.00 USD per hour, calibrated precisely to evaluate your professional engineering licensure, domain depth, and advisory velocity.
  • The spectacular professional canvas to claim an influential advisory seat, directly shaping the applied AI systems built to automate and upgrade the built environment across America.
  • Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering a 100% remote virtual environment, complete personal schedule autonomy to accommodate your current employer, and zero physical geographic office commuting friction.
  • Access to an elite, high-agency corporate startup culture backed by top-tier venture funds (Lightspeed Venture Partners), devoid of traditional engineering bureaucracy.
  • A unique career acceleration opportunity to leverage your deep discipline insights, converting years of repetitive technical manual process into high-leverage software code.
