Position Overview

We are seeking a highly visionary, analytical, and strategy-driven Director of Technology FP&A to join our global corporate Finance division under a permanent, full-time remote framework open across the United States. In this executive-level financial leadership seat, you will act as the principal strategic thought partner directly anchoring the financial planning, budget forecasting, and investment optimization workflows for our massive Engineering organization. Shifting completely away from routine back-office bookkeeping, localized tax processing, or simple non-technical spreadsheets, you will manage a small, highly productive team to command multi-million dollar cloud hostings and infrastructure capital expenses. This position requires a finance authority with 13+ years of progressive history who steers cloud infrastructure budgets fluidly natively using CFO and financial modeling strategies, evaluates data workload efficiencies across dual-cloud architectures (AWS/GCP) cleanly, creates complex presentation decks for executive leadership teams, and establishes robust cross-functional financial processes alongside legal, tax, accounting, and audit leaders to keep our rising business scaling safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Organization Governance: Partner directly with Engineering leadership to build advanced financial modeling infrastructures for high-stakes investment choices, prioritizing technical assets to achieve optimal operational ROI natively utilizing CFO paradigms.
• Comprehensive Engineering P&L Delivery: Own, engineer, and defend long-range strategic financial forecasts, annual operating budgets, and granular tracking layers—communicating targets quarterly and annually.
• Dual-Cloud Economics Optimization: Monitor, audit, and analyze performance benchmarks against strategic cloud hosting agreements, collaborating with systems engineers to balance high-traffic workloads across dual environments (AWS and GCP) to shrink operational waste.
• Cross-Functional Protocol Stand-up: Spearhead the institutionalization of robust corporate tracking workflows to evaluate global technology decisions, collaborating with cross-functional internal legal, audit, accounting, and tax entities.
• Executive Communication & Presentations: Direct the synthesis of complex financial models that account for data risks, market volatility, and infrastructure metrics, building compelling summary presentations for senior leadership reviews.
• Talent Cultivation & Team Leadership: Manage, attract, and develop a specialized workforce of financial analysts, identifying operational capability gaps and outlining career mapping trajectories to sustain a high-trust culture.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• A minimum of 13+ years of professional history in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) roles or closely related corporate finance leadership disciplines.
• Mandatory Specialized Experience: At least 2+ years of direct, hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure economics, cloud cost analyses, or technical hosting allocations, along with 5+ years of direct people management history.
• Required Core Sector Background: Proven professional history working directly within a top-tier investment banking firm or global corporate management consulting company.
• Hands-on technical familiarity with AWS or GCP cloud architectures and their integrated enterprise billing structures.
• Masterful understanding of complete financial statements (including Balance Sheets, P&L structures, and downstream margin drivers) combined with elite command over Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Location Context: Position operates under remote geographic guidelines open to qualified financial executives residing permanently within the USA.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

• Possess a formal Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree or an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) registration designation.
• Prior experience directly embedded within or collaborating alongside high-growth tech engineering departments or internet-scale infrastructure platforms.
• Demonstrated capability to analyze massive, unstructured data sets and build sophisticated predictive modeling systems under tight corporate timelines.
