A bit about the role
As our Director of Acquisition Marketing, you’ll own our global acquisition strategy and performance, sitting at the intersection of data, performance and creativity. You’ll bring deep performance marketing expertise, strong commercial judgement and a rigorous approach to measurement and experimentation to drive sustainable, profitable new customer growth.
This is a full-funnel acquisition role, connecting brand, media and creative to understand what drives performance and turn those insights into stronger acquisition outcomes. While DTC acquisition is the immediate focus, you’ll also think beyond individual channels and optimise acquisition investment for the best incremental business impact across DTC, Amazon and retail.
You’ll be the person who connects the dots between performance data, marketing effectiveness and action — working in partnership with our Marketing Analytics team to turn incrementality, MMM and experimentation insights into better decisions across channels, tactics and campaigns. You’ll also lead and develop our Acquisition Marketing team, building the capability, systems and ways of working to scale our growth engine globally. The role reports to our GM of Growth Marketing and is a remote, Australia-based position.
If you worked here this past month, here are some things you might have been involved in
- Reviewed channel, audience and campaign performance and reallocated budgets across tactics to improve new-customer acquisition efficiency and commercial returns.
- Partnered with the Marketing Analytics team to drive incrementality testing, interpret MMM outputs and apply experimentation learnings, using the results to change channel, tactic and campaign strategy.
- Worked with creative and local teams to identify the creative concepts, formats and messages driving acquisition performance, then scaled winning approaches through structured testing.
- Connected brand and biddable media performance, using audience and media insights to identify how upper-funnel activity was influencing downstream acquisition.
- Built and maintained the global acquisition roadmap, aligning priorities, initiatives and dependencies across the Acquisition Marketing team and local markets, while improving reporting, systems and operating rhythms.
- Coached and developed the Acquisition Marketing team, providing feedback, raising the functional bar and helping team members build greater channel expertise, commercial judgement and analytical capability.
- Evaluated new acquisition opportunities across channels, audiences, organic and paid activity, and retention/re-engagement programs, testing where additional investment could unlock incremental customer value.
Let’s talk about you
You think in dollars, not just clicks
You see acquisition as a commercial investment, not a media efficiency exercise. You’re as comfortable talking about Gross Margin, Contribution Margin and Customer Lifetime Value as you are about CPA and ROAS, and you understand the difference between a channel that looks efficient and one that’s actually driving incremental growth. You’re fluent in incrementality, experimentation and Marketing Mix Modelling, and know how to turn measurement into better investment and optimisation decisions.
You’re a performance marketer who knows the platforms
You’ve got deep, hands-on experience across biddable media, particularly Meta and Google, and understand the detail behind media planning, buying, audience strategy, bidding and optimisation. You can move comfortably between strategy and platform setup and execution, and you know how to connect media performance with creative, audience and full-funnel strategy. Experience across agency and client-side environments is highly valued, particularly where you’ve brought strong media planning or buying capability into an in-house growth team.
You’re a builder who leads from the front
You’ve built or grown a high-performing acquisition or growth marketing team, and you know how to set a high bar while developing people toward greater independence. You give direct, kind feedback, you’re comfortable challenging an existing approach (including your own), and you’d rather build a scalable system than fight the same fire twice.
You know how to make global and local work
You’re comfortable working across global and local teams, bringing consistency and best practice while adapting to market-specific needs. You can build strong relationships across Growth, Marketing, Creative, Commercial, Finance, Product and Data, and bring people together around clear priorities and ways of working.
You care about creative performance
You understand that great acquisition creative is more than a brand exercise. You’re comfortable partnering with Creative and local teams to identify what’s working, build structured testing programs and use performance insights to improve creative effectiveness and scale what works.
You give a crap.
Do you want your work to make the world a better place? Do you want to work with other people who feel the same way? What a coincidence — us too!
