Director, Data Science

About the Role: At Headspace, Data Science helps the company understand behavior, improve products, prove impact, and make better decisions. As the Director of Data Science, you will lead the organization across product, marketing, and Care marketplace science, advancing Headspace's scientific rigor and deepening capabilities in product analytics and ROI storytelling.

What You'll Do

• Own the strategy, execution, and impact of Data Science across product, marketing, and forecasting.
• Establish high standards across experimentation, causal inference, modeling, forecasting, and statistical rigor.
• Build and lead a high-performing team by developing leaders and leveraging AI to improve productivity.
• Partner cross-functionally to define measurement strategies that demonstrate care impact, outcomes, and ROI.
• Lead product analytics to shape how user behavior is understood across acquisition, engagement, retention, and care journeys.

What You Bring

• 12+ years of experience in data science, product science, quantitative analytics, economics, statistics, or machine learning.
• Proven ability managing senior ICs and people managers, including principal-level scientists.
• Deep expertise in experimentation, causal inference, and predictive modeling.
• Strong track record influencing roadmap and investment decisions with clear, evidence-based recommendations.
• Bonus: Experience with healthcare, digital health, Statsig, and leveraging AI hands-on in experimentation.
