DevOps Engineer

About the Role: At Neon One, we are on a transformative journey to scale our SaaS platform, enabling non-profits to operate more effectively and increase their social impact. We're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team to build and mature the cloud backbone that will power our next generation of products. You will ensure our applications are delivered securely, reliably, and efficiently, empowering our product engineering teams to ship features faster and with greater confidence.

What You'll Do

• Infrastructure Implementation & Management: Design and implement resilient cloud architectures using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform for AWS resources (Lambdas, ECS, Aurora, RDS).
• CI/CD Pipeline Optimization: Build, maintain, and optimize continuous integration and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• System Reliability: Monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs) utilizing CloudWatch and NewRelic, and participate in an on-call rotation to manage incident response.
• Security & Access Control: Administrate cloud hosting accounts, VPN connections, and integrate security best practices (IAM, RBAC, network security).
• AI Infrastructure Support: Partner with Engineering and Data Teams to provision AWS infrastructure for AI workloads (AWS SageMaker and Bedrock).
• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams, and runbooks.

What You Bring

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure in AWS.
• Proficiency with IaC tools; specific experience with Terraform or CloudFormation is required.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines, specifically with GitHub Actions.
• Strong scripting skills to automate repetitive tasks and improve developer experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as a self-starter within a distributed team.
• Bonus: AWS Associate or Professional-level certification, experience with container orchestration, compliance frameworks (SOC2, PCI-DSS), MLOps principles, and New Relic.
