About WunderGraph: WunderGraph is a fast-growing, category-defining B2B software startup on an ambitious mission to remove friction from digital product creation and streamline complex enterprise API environments. Backed by a $7.5 million USD Series A funding round led by eBay, Karma Ventures, and Aspenwood Ventures, WunderGraph delivers a highly collaborative, end-to-end platform where design concepts transition into live software assets smoothly. Developers from some of the largest corporations in the world use WunderGraph to govern data orchestration layers and accelerate workflow productivity. Operating as a transparent, no-BS organization, we focus entirely on building a high-trust technical workplace where engineering excellence flourishes without administrative noise.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly autonomous, systems-fluent, and development-oriented Developer Relations Engineer to become the definitive technical face and voice of WunderGraph within the global developer ecosystem under a permanent, full-time remote footprint (open across the United States and Europe/CET time zones). In this high-leverage software-advocacy seat, you will hold absolute technical ownership over building high-relevance open-source projects, writing canonical guides, and engaging directly with engineers to ensure platform adoption success. Shifting completely away from routine non-regulated data entry loops, entry-level styling changes, or generic customer support ticketing, you will operate an active cross-functional API integration, GraphQL Federation engineering, and custom developer experience (DX) laboratory. Reporting directly to the Chief Customer Officer and aligning close-knit naast the Engineering Leads, Product Directors, and the CEO, you will act as a developer champion to directly influence roadmap priorities. This position requires a software engineer with proven technical credibility who handles data layers fluidly natively using Backend, Python, and SEO primitives, demonstrates extensive public speaking or content delivery history, and coordinates technical communities independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developer Advocacy & Ecosystem Governance: Act as the authoritative voice of WunderGraph across developer channels, nurturing technical communities around API infrastructure natively utilizing Backend engineering frameworks.
  • Open-Source Software Scaffolding: Engineer production-grade code samples, open-source SDKs, interactive playgrounds, and proof-of-concept integrations to inspire developer workflows.
  • Technical Content Instrumentation: Author and publish high-quality developer tutorials, guides, and strategic blog posts across technical publishing channels natively deploying SEO tracking models to capture awareness.
  • Multimedia Coding Delivery Control: Collaborate beside internal Content Managers and Video Producers to script, record, and present walkthroughs, live coding workshops, and interactive webinars.
  • Public Presentation and Speaking: Represent WunderGraph live at international software meetups, developer panels, and enterprise tech conferences to generate community excitement.
  • Product Feedback and Roadmap Triage: Collect, synthesize, and present community telemetry and platform feedback to Engineering and Product squads, ensuring developer gaps are transformed into actionable roadmap features natively using Python testing architectures.
  • DX Evaluation and Instrumentation: Audit first-time user experiences, review platform getting-started documentation, and test new feature code blocks from a third-party developer perspective to minimize integration friction.
  • Adoption Metric Analytics: Track, evaluate, and report on developer acquisition funnels, monitoring repository indicators (stars, forks, and pull requests) alongside community growth and developer-to-customer conversion rates.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated professional software engineering or developer relations history operating as a Developer Advocate, Solutions Engineer, Full-Stack Developer, Content Engineer, or closely matching tech-driven engineering advocacy capacity.
  • Expert Full-Stack Language Command: Meticulous practical experience writing and debugging code natively utilizing TypeScript (with solid operational familiarity in Python or Go treated as a significant advantage).
  • Deep technical literacy managing enterprise integration primitives—specifically encompassing APIs, REST protocols, GraphQL systems, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
  • Hands-on familiarity utilizing developer toolsets, command line interfaces (CLIs), and remote testing backends (such as GitHub, VS Code, and CI/CD pipelines) to ship open-source content.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and textual presentation communication strengths in English, with an established background delivering public talks or interactive workshops cleanly to highly technical user groups.
  • Shift & Location Context: Position operates under remote guidelines open to qualified engineering authorities residing permanently within the United Kingdom, Europe (CET Time Zone), or the United States, requiring uncompromised availability to fulfill core US business hours.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior platform or consulting history engineering scalable data networks explicitly inside the GraphQL Federation, enterprise API gateway, or developer tooling sectors.
  • Direct operational intimacy managing developer spaces natively inside community platforms like Discord, Slack, Stack Overflow, Dev.to, or Hashnode.
  • An adaptable, startup-ready persona characterized by a high-agency focus, a desire to iterate rapidly without established playbooks, and an intense motivation to get stuff done.

What We Offer

  • Top-Tier US/EU Developer Relations Remuneration Matrix: A highly competitive annual target base salary scale of $120,000 — $180,000 USD calibrated precisely to your individual systems pedigree and community velocity, backed by stable Series A venture financing.
  • 100% remote workspace infrastructure autonomy open throughout the US and Europe, supplemented by global co-working space choices and options to work in person out of our Miami hub.
  • Macro Developer Experience Influence: Elite professional landmarks built by single-handedly blueprinting the documentation models, open-source code packages, and DX pipelines adopted by engineers at the world’s largest enterprises.
  • Comprehensive health preservation structures, inclusive of top-tier Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage frameworks configured cleanly to local region standards.
  • Access to matching discretionary Paid Time Off (PTO) to rest and recharge on your own terms, preferred hardware provisioning choice, global team retreats, and an uncompromised, zero-BS remote culture built around collective engineering fun.

WunderGraph (operating under wundergraph.com) is the premier, enterprise-grade API composition platform, backend-for-frontend (BFF) architecture pioneer, and declarative data aggregation powerhouse engineered to operate as the definitive, high-velocity API integration, cross-service schema orchestration, and real-time data federation layer for modern full-stack web applications, decentralized microservices, and high-concurrency enterprise software ecosystems. The company completely eliminates the severe systemic friction of modern corporate software production—where frontend and backend engineering teams face fragmented REST/GraphQL endpoints, complex secure authentication handling, massive client-side data fetching overhead, and fragile manual SDK generations—by deploying an advanced, compile-time API management framework. Moving far beyond traditional, passive API gateways, runtime proxies, or slow manual service-to-service orchestration frameworks, WunderGraph natively unifies automated OpenAPI, GraphQL, SQL, and gRPC schema introspection, type-safe end-to-end code generation, secure server-to-server data joins, and high-efficiency JSON-over-HTTP client edge distribution into a single unified developer workflow. Powered by its highly optimized runtime architecture and its flagship open-source API orchestration engine, Cosmo, the platform enables development teams to effortlessly construct high-performance Federated GraphQL architectures using Apollo Federation standards with production-hardened engineering precision. Under the hood, its sophisticated technical core leverages automated schema-stitching engines, secure JWT/OAuth token propagation loops, and lightning-fast edge-caching execution layers optimized to maximize core web vitals and scale complex data graphs infinitely without runtime performance degradation. What sets WunderGraph apart is its uncompromising dedication to replacing fragile runtime API translation layers with absolute compile-time type safety and data ingestion velocity; by bridging the gap between performance-intensive microservice telemetry and clean, developer-first full-stack component rendering, the firm remains the definitive cornerstone of modern algorithmic API management and enterprise software architecture scaling.
