Data Engineering Lead

About the Role: Moniepoint Inc. is Africa's all-in-one financial ecosystem. As a Data Engineering Lead, you will help craft robust, scalable systems that support our business intelligence and data-driven operations. Your work will enable our teams to make informed, data-driven decisions that directly impact the success of our business while mentoring others and pushing the boundaries of what's possible with data.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain robust data pipelines processing large volumes of data.
• Analyze large data sets using tools such as Python & SQL, and optimize our data platform for speed, scalability, and cost.
• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
• Set up new pipelines for the full stream/enrichment/curation process and investigate ML & AI to improve cloud offerings.
• Coordinate with functional teams to meet data needs and develop junior staff members.

What You Bring

• 5-7+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency with SQL and Python.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) and version control tools like Git.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Bonus: Experience with data governance, building/deploying machine learning models, and Terraform or other IaC tools.
