Cloud Reliability & Recovery Engineer

About the Role: AlphaSense is the world's most sophisticated market intelligence platform powered by AI. We are seeking an experienced Cloud Reliability & Recovery Engineer to design, implement, and continuously improve our Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities across AWS cloud environments.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement multi-region, multi-AZ AWS architectures meeting stringent RTO/RPO targets using Route 53, Global Accelerator, and CloudFront.
• Administer AWS Backup across all services and develop automated data recovery testing procedures.
• Author and maintain Terraform/CloudFormation templates for all BCP/DR infrastructure components and automate pipelines through CI/CD.
• Review containerized workloads using Kubernetes to ensure resilience through self-healing and auto-scaling.
• Conduct BCP/DR tabletop exercises, full failover simulations, and participate in on-call DR incident response.

What You Bring

• 5+ years in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or IT disaster recovery engineering roles, with 3+ years of hands-on AWS production experience.
• Expert-level proficiency with core AWS resilience services and strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Bonus: AWS Certified Solutions Architect/DevOps Engineer (Professional), knowledge of Kubernetes-based DR, and serverless DR patterns.
