Role Summary
We are searching for a Category Analyst to join our team and effectively deliver data-driven insights that build compelling business stories to increase sales and market share. In this role, you will partner cross-functionally to define business metrics, lead retail data analysis, and deliver structured dashboards that directly inform channel, assortment, and promotional decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Syndicated Data Extraction: Leverage CPG specialized tracking engines (including SPINS and Nielsen) to isolate market insights and form clear category strategies.
- Performance Auditing: Provide deep‑dive analytics for key sales initiatives, analyzing retailer performances, SKU assortments, promotional metrics, voids, and new product launches.
- Sales Forecasting: Partner with category leadership to evaluate historical performance timelines, isolate distribution growth drivers, and model forward-looking opportunities.
- Cross-functional Consulting: Serve as an analytical consultant across internal Sales, Account Management, and Product teams to clarify business questions and prioritize data workflows based on macro revenue impact.
- Dashboard Management: Actively maintain weekly and monthly market health reports, distilling complex multi-state retail trends into actionable presentations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of experience in Category, Sales, or Commercial analytics, ideally within the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) sector.
- Strong, provable dataset manipulation skills using Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- Direct operational experience navigating syndicated research tracking architectures (SPINS, Nielsen, or IRI).
- Demonstrated ability to structure raw metric datasets around complex business questions and clearly articulate technical tradeoffs (the 'so what').
- Strong project management, presentation, and communication mechanics to influence senior retail partners and internal leaders.
- High level of mathematical accuracy, organizational discipline, and a self-starter mindset comfortable inside high-growth environments.
Compensation & Perks
- Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 USD per year + Performance Bonuses.
