Backend Rust Engineer

About the Role: OpenObserve is a leading player in the world of open-source observability tools, combining logs, metrics, and traces into a single platform. We are looking for a Backend Rust Engineer to join our fully remote, globally distributed team. You will be responsible for developing high-quality applications and designing testable, scalable code to support our fast-paced startup.

What You'll Do

• Develop quality software and web applications.
• Analyse and maintain existing software applications to ensure platform reliability.
• Design highly scalable and testable code for distributed systems.
• Discover and fix programming bugs efficiently.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in Distributed Systems and strong development experience with Rust.
• SQL database or relational database skills.
• Bonus: Experience with low-level systems programming, building databases in Rust, Apache Arrow Datafusion, Kubernetes, and observability.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
