Back-End Engineer

About the Role: Deel is the all-in-one payroll and HR platform for global teams. As a Back-End Engineer, you will help build Deel's native financial infrastructure, including a global, cross-border payment system, to support payroll, treasury, and compliance at a massive scale.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, and Designers to create seamless user experiences.
• Develop robust new features, APIs, and continuously improve industry-leading products at "Deel Speed."
• Solve complex fintech problems and build modern, resilient systems that power Deel's financial infrastructure globally.
• Design and evolve APIs, services, and infrastructure to support rapid growth and high-transaction volumes.

What You Bring

• 4+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer.
• Professional experience in fintech or financial domains (payments, accounting, exchanges, banking) and familiarity with compliance environments (KYC, AML).
• Strong proficiency in OOP best practices, design patterns, and server-side languages.
• Expertise in SQL (particularly PostgreSQL), handling query optimization, data migrations, and database modeling.
• Experience optimizing systems for concurrency, idempotency, and large transaction volumes.
