Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking an Associate, Logistics to join our Long Term Recovery team! The Associate, Logistics will manage storage caches across program locations, including monitoring leases and tracking inventory, as well as manage fleet assets and purchase construction materials and supplies in support of construction projects, maximizing Donations In-Kind (DIK). This will require determination, motivation, strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and expert communication in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

The Associate, Logistics will be responsible for the management of Long Term Recovery’s fleet of vehicles and ensuring our construction contractors have the materials they need to rebuild homes for clients affected by disasters.

Duties:

  • Track and report fleet vehicle location, utilization, toll tag usage, and maintenance
  • Lease and report utilization of rental vehicles, as needed for programmatic support
  • Evaluate materials list and research or recommend more disaster-resilient materials
  • Procure construction-related materials, evaluating best cost option via vendor network
  • Identify vendors for ad-hoc materials procurement needs in resource deserts
  • Liaise with FEMA, State Governments, and non-profits to solicit Donations in Kind (DIK)
  • Source, ship, receive, inventory, and warehouse DIK
  • Ship, receive, inventory, and warehouse durable goods for programmatic areas
  • Track and report utilization of gift cards for materials purchases
  • Support TR’s Workforce Development department with logistics tasks, as needed, including supporting with rental vehicles and in-kind donations, storage, and transportation

Education and Background:

  • 1-3 years of experience in the military, emergency management, or social impact space
  • 1-2 years of experience in logistics, fleet management, purchasing, acquisitions, or supply chain management
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Exceptionally skilled in sourcing, organizing, evaluating, and recommending solutions to support programmatic requirements
  • Preferred: Practical understanding of Lean methodologies

Special Requirements:

  • This is a full-time; remote position and can be based out of the Lower 48 United States and provides a flexible and non-traditional work schedule (relocation expenses not provided). Evening/weekend work may be needed periodically. At least 20% non-local travel to support program sites for inventory or shipping/receiving may be needed periodically.
