The Associate Director, Human Resources Business Partner will serve as a strategic HR advisor to U.S. Field Commercial leaders in a high-growth, technically complex environment.

You will translate business priorities into integrated people, talent, workforce, and organizational strategies.
The role will influence workforce planning, organizational design, succession, leadership development, and team effectiveness.
You will help leaders navigate organizational change, complex people challenges, and evolving business needs with sound judgment and data-driven insights.
Close collaboration with HR Centers of Excellence and functional leaders will be essential to building scalable people practices.

Accountabilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to leaders across U.S. Field Commercial functions, developing a deep understanding of business priorities and organizational needs.
  • Translate business strategies into actionable people, talent, workforce, and organizational plans, while supporting execution and measuring effectiveness.
  • Lead workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, talent development, leadership development, and capability-building initiatives.
  • Conduct organizational assessments and provide recommendations on organizational structure, operating models, decision-making, leadership capabilities, and team effectiveness.
  • Coach leaders on leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, performance management, employee development, and organizational health.
  • Diagnose complex or ambiguous people and organizational challenges and develop practical, business-focused solutions.
  • Lead and support change management initiatives, including stakeholder assessment, communications, leader enablement, adoption, and sustainability.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to align people strategies across functions and identify scalable HR solutions.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, People Operations, HR Technology, Culture, Employee Engagement, Talent Management, and Learning teams to implement effective people programs.
  • Use organizational and people data to identify trends, diagnose issues, develop recommendations, and evaluate the effectiveness of HR interventions.
  • Influence senior stakeholders on sensitive or complex organizational matters using sound business judgment, data, and HR expertise.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters and support investigations in accordance with policies and applicable employment requirements.
  • Lead complex cross-functional projects and initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
  • Champion an inclusive, collaborative, innovative, and accountable culture while supporting organizational growth and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of progressive HR Business Partner experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong HRBP experience within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or another complex technical environment.
  • Proven ability to act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders and translate business priorities into effective people and organizational strategies.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand scientific, technical, and operational priorities and connect them to workforce, talent, leadership, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, leadership development, change management, and team effectiveness.
  • Ability to independently navigate complex and ambiguous organizational challenges and develop thoughtful, practical solutions.
  • Strong influencing, consulting, and relationship-building skills, with demonstrated credibility across functions and levels of leadership.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to balance employee, leadership, functional, and enterprise perspectives.
  • Experience leading complex projects and initiatives across multiple stakeholders or disciplines.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to use people data and insights to support recommendations and decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth, dynamic environment characterized by change, urgency, accountability, and flexibility.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment compliance, and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to challenge existing approaches while developing innovative, scalable solutions.
  • Preferred: Experience in a rapidly growing biotechnology or pharmaceutical organization, particularly through significant growth, late-stage development, commercialization readiness, or other major business transitions.
  • Preferred: Experience building or evolving HR processes and organizational practices in matrixed and/or global organizations.

Benefits:

  • Base salary range of $177,000–$221,000 USD, with actual compensation adjusted based on role, level, location, skills, experience, education, and market factors.
