Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, process-driven, and compliance-minded Arrears Executive (Mortgage Litigation) to join our centralized collections and secured recoveries division under a flexible fully remote model open across the United Kingdom, with options to utilize office facilities in London, Cardiff, Durham, or Blackpool. In this high-leverage late-arrears enforcement seat, you will take operational ownership of complex delinquency portfolios across motor finance, unsecured lending, and secured residential mortgage accounts. Shifting entirely away from routine non-regulated data entry, basic third-party visual layout styling, or outbound product marketing campaigns, you will manage an active litigation strategy, asset repossession routing, and statutory forbearance assessment laboratory. This position requires a recoveries and litigation authority with a proven background in regulated banking who navigates consumer arrears cases fluidly natively using Bookkeeping and default management rules, compiles court-ready litigation briefs cleanly, administers formal Income and Expenditure (I&E) reviews systematically, tracks cases across multi-channel customer servicing lines, and enforces strict Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) compliance thresholds to deliver fair client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Late Arrears Portfolio Governance: Proactively analyze, manage, and settle late-stage arrears portfolios across vehicle finance, unsecured personal loans, and secured mortgage accounts natively utilizing Bookkeeping and recovery parameters.
- Secured Litigation & Exit Strategies: Evaluate complex payment failure loops to construct, verify, and execute court documentation, asset repossessions, and optimal litigation exit structures.
- FCA Compliance & Regulatory Tracking: Enforce strict operational alignment alongside Financial Conduct Authority rulesāspecifically focusing on MCOB and CONC guidelinesāensuring regulatory transaction documentation is accurately processed.
- Income & Expenditure Assessments: Structure and review comprehensive client affordability budgets, deciding and implementing matching forbearance solutions based on individual personal circumstances.
- Vulnerability & Escalation Triage: Identify, log, and resolve specialized default cases, tracking parameters carefully to protect vulnerable or fraud-exposed client segments.
- Multi-Channel Communication Management: Manage inbound and outbound case communication layers across telephone networks, legal portals, and structured emails, updating team logs to support organizational scorecard goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven professional history managing later-stage consumer default accounts, explicitly including hands-on experience handling mortgage litigation and vehicle finance repossessions.
- Demonstrated background operating inside a regulated UK financial services, banking platform, or regulated lending firm.
- Expert practical command over FCA regulations (MCOB and CONC guidelines), Consumer Credit Act (CCA) parameters, and GDPR data governance tracking.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication strengths in English, with an established capability to negotiate structured repayment or forbearance agreements under tight timelines.
- Contractual Rota Alignment: Flexibility to fulfill a 36.25-hour weekly roster running Monday to Saturday (8am-7pm), which includes a remote work shift on the last Saturday morning of each calendar month.
- Location Context: Position operates under remote guidelines open exclusively to qualified collections professionals residing permanently within the United Kingdom.
