Reporting to the Manager, International Accounting, the APJ Accounting Manager is responsible for the execution and delivery of APJ accounting operations, ensuring all regional outputs are completed accurately, timely, and in line with SOX and group requirements. This role provides regional leadership across Australia, India, Japan, and Singapore (and future entities), acting as the day-to-day owner of delivery while operating under the direction of the Senior Manager.
What You'll Do:
1. Close & Financial Reporting Delivery
- Own timely and accurate delivery of APJ month-end close
- Ensure all reconciliations, journals, and schedules meet deadlines
- Present finalised outputs for Senior Manager review and approval
2. Stakeholder & Provider Management
- Act as day-to-day point of contact for senior management and external providers
- Manage outsourced provider performance against SLAs and KPIs
- Resolve issues proactively and escalate where required
3. Statutory & Audit Oversight
- Oversee preparation and submission of statutory financial statements
- Coordinate audits and ensure local compliance requirements are met
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements
4. Team Leadership
- Manage APJ Accountant
- Ensure clear prioritisation, accountability, and delivery standards
5. Cash Flow & Intercompany Support
- Consolidate APJ intercompany positions and cash requirements
- Provide forward-looking visibility (quarter + 60 days)
- Prepare recommendations on settlements and funding for Senior Manager review
6. Indirect Tax Oversight
- Review indirect tax returns and supporting workbooks
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission via external partners
7. Controls & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure adherence to SOX controls and documentation standards
- Drive process improvements and adoption of systems
What You'll Bring:
- Qualified accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA)
- Significant experience in multi-entity, multi-country accounting
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management experience
- Experience managing outsourced providers
- Strong understanding of SOX environments
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
