Core Responsibilities
As an Analyst – Intelligence & Advisory, you will work at the intersection of technology, AI, and business to transform ambiguous business questions into structured, hypothesis-led research and actionable recommendations. Your work will directly impact how AHEAD’s consulting teams understand markets, position against competitors, and win enterprise technology deals.
Key Responsibilities
Problem Solving & Advisory Support
- Translate pursuit, account, and client questions into structured problem statements, hypotheses, and research plans. Clarify scope, success criteria, and timelines with stakeholders upfront.
- Apply consulting frameworks (e.g., MECE issue trees, hypothesis-driven analysis, value-chain assessments) to break down complex problems and arrive at defensible answers.
- Exercise sound judgment when data is incomplete—triangulate across sources, state assumptions, size opportunities, and flag confidence levels. Always answer the “so what” with a recommendation, not just data.
- Support pursuit and advisory engagements by delivering market insights, competitive benchmarking, and strategic guidance that shape deal strategy and client conversations.
Research Delivery & Insights
- Own end-to-end delivery of research products like Market Size & Outlook, Industry/Technology POVs, Account Intelligence Packs, Competitive Profiles, Buying Behavior Analysis, and Benchmark Reports.
- Synthesize intelligence from primary and secondary sources (e.g., Gartner, Everest Group, Hoovers, AlphaSense) into crisp, executive-ready insights.
- Track competitor strategies, partnerships, and deal signals, translating them into actionable pursuit positioning.
- Analyze market dynamics in Applications, Cloud, Infrastructure, AI, Cybersecurity, and Digital Workplace to assess business needs and technology linkages.
- Build account-level intelligence for strategic account planning, C-suite engagement, and opportunity identification.
- Validate sources for accuracy, credibility, and relevance; maintain high standards of referencing across all deliverables.
Reporting, Dashboards & AI-Enabled Research
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards in Power BI and lightweight HTML (e.g., competitor trackers, account/market views).
- Clean, model, and visualize data from multiple sources (Excel, databases, analyst-platform exports) with clear metric definitions.
- Use AI tools and agents to automate research workflows (e.g., source scanning, summarization) while validating every output for accuracy and bias.
- Build reusable prompts and agent workflows, ensuring responsible AI use and sharing best practices.
Storytelling & Visual Communication
- Convert research findings into answer-first storylines and CXO-level communications that persuade.
- Build polished, consulting-grade decks and visualizations using AHEAD’s brand-compliant templates.
- Present findings to senior stakeholders with confidence, handling questions and pushback effectively.
Stakeholder Partnership
- Act as a day-to-day research partner for consulting, sales, and practice teams, translating business needs into hypothesis-led research.
- Manage multiple concurrent requests, balancing standard reports with high-urgency support while maintaining quality and timelines.
- Anticipate intelligence needs across the pursuit lifecycle and incorporate stakeholder feedback into future work.
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to align research with account goals.
Team Contribution, Tools & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to reusable assets like research templates, source libraries, and frameworks that extend research output into AHEAD IP.
- Shape the CoE’s research agenda by identifying priority topics, data gaps, and new content ideas.
- Track delivery metrics (turnaround time, quality, stakeholder satisfaction) and contribute to win/loss learnings.
- Mentor junior analysts, sharing domain knowledge and research methods to raise team capability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 3-5 years in research, market/competitive intelligence, deal advisory, or strategy/management consulting (excludes BPO industry).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; master’s in management from a reputed institution is preferred.
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of IT services, enterprise technology (e.g., Cloud, AI, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation), and at least one vertical domain.
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to break down ambiguous questions into structured problems, test hypotheses, and reach clear conclusions.
- Consulting Skills: Consulting-style approach to scoping, framing, and answering stakeholder questions with storytelling and recommendations.
- Tools Proficiency: Power BI, Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, Qualtrics (plus knowledge of AI agents and generative AI tools).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills for executive-level summaries and presentations.
- Research Proficiency: Hands-on experience with secondary research platforms (e.g., Gartner, Everest Group) and converting research into structured findings.
- Curiosity & Ownership: Intellectual curiosity, comfort with ambiguity, and drive to uncover insights that influence decisions.
- Organizational Rigor: Ability to manage multiple deliverables with competing priorities while maintaining quality.
- Collaboration: Consultative mindset and trusted relationships with cross-functional teams.
- RFP/Proposal Experience: Exposure to RFP support or pursuit enablement within consulting/tech firms.
