AI Designer

About the Role: Recraft is an AI tool for professional designers, illustrators, and marketers, setting a new standard for excellence in image generation. We are looking for an AI Designer to work at the intersection of design and machine learning. You will apply our model to real creative scenarios to uncover where it works, where it fails, and how it can improve.

What You'll Do

• Apply generative models to real-world design scenarios, including editorial illustration, marketing visuals, and brand assets.
• Evaluate generated outputs to identify quality gaps, edge cases, and opportunities for improvement.
• Curate high-quality, rights-cleared reference images and articulate why each represents a strong target.
• Compare and rank generated images using defined criteria such as composition, visual quality, and consistency.
• Develop realistic use-case scenarios with clear objectives to guide model evaluation and iteration.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of professional experience as a designer, illustrator, art director, or visual creative.
• A portfolio with recent and relevant work showcasing strong visual taste and aesthetic judgment.
• Experience working with real design briefs and constraints.
• Hands-on experience with AI image tools (and ideally chat-based AI).
• Bonus: Background in branding, marketing, editorial, or product design, along with agency or freelance experience.
