Job Description
### About the Project
We are a small team developing a Unity game. The core gameplay and systems are already established. We are seeking a dedicated UI developer to assume responsibility for all in-game UI implementation, allowing the lead developer to focus on core coding and systems.
This is a UI-only development role, not gameplay programming.
### Duration
Short-term contract (task-based, with potential for extension).
### Location
Remote.
### Engine
Unity (UI Toolkit / UXML / USS).
### Responsibilities
* Implement in-game UI using Unity UI Toolkit (UXML / USS).
* Build responsive UI layouts (PC-first, scalable).
* Create and maintain menus, HUDs, panels, popups, and inventory/character screens.
* Work with existing UI designs or rough layouts and enhance them.
* Ensure clean structure, reusable UI components, and readable USS.
* Connect UI elements to existing backend logic (events, bindings, callbacks).
* Optimize UI for performance and usability.
### Requirements
* Strong experience with Unity UI Toolkit (explicitly NOT uGUI).
* Solid knowledge of UXML / USS.
* Proficiency in Flex layouts.
* Experience building game UIs, not exclusively editor tools.
* Demonstrates a clean and organized workflow.
* Able to work independently and follow instructions.
* Comfortable working with an existing codebase.
### Nice to Have
* Experience with game UI/UX design.
* Familiarity with UI animations (UI Toolkit transitions).
* Knowledge of style systems / reusable UI components.
* Familiarity with RPG / strategy game UI principles.
* Git experience.
