The Opportunity

Voice AI is at a pivotal moment. Current voice interaction methods are limited by data scarcity and high computational costs. Deepgram's research scientists are pioneering Latent Space Models (LSMs) to overcome these challenges. This role requires exceptional technical program leadership to translate these breakthroughs into shipping products. The mission's complexity, spanning audio compression, generative modeling, and multimodal systems, demands rigorous cross-functional execution, precise dependency management, and a relentless focus on delivering technical systems that convert research into real-world impact. As research matures, this Technical Program Manager will drive delivery, own risk, and ensure Research, Product, DataOps, and Engineering align effectively.

What You'll Do

• Be embedded in Deepgram’s Research organization, bridging research output and technical delivery.
• Inherit an active portfolio of cross-functional programs covering STT and TTS model development, data pipeline work, and evaluation infrastructure.
• Own end-to-end delivery of new model versions and features for flagship STT and TTS offerings, coordinating across Research, Product, DataOps, and Engineering.
• Define and champion lightweight, effective processes to bring visibility and accountability to researchers’ workflows without stifling creativity.
• Map dependencies and risks across all active cross-functional projects, maintaining a clear picture of project status and necessary actions.
• Run cross-functional programs from scope definition and timeline management to stakeholder communication, risk mitigation, and launch readiness.
• Troubleshoot cross-team blockers rapidly and build reliable partnerships for smooth handoffs and clear accountability.
• Own proactive communication at all organizational levels, ensuring accurate project health reads and team understanding of the bigger picture.
• Respond quickly to shifting priorities, translating decisions into clear implications for timelines, capacity, and dependencies.
