About Legion: Let’s be real, AI isn’t magic; Legion was built to move completely beyond AI hype—delivering secure, reliable systems that work seamlessly alongside the people tackling the world’s most critical national security challenges. Born from a Department of Defense (DoD) partnership and trusted by elite leaders across government agencies and enterprise sectors, Legion embeds intelligence inside complex frameworks, unlocking isolated data, accelerating human workflows, and strengthening mission-critical systems. Collaborating with world-class tech pillars like Palantir, Nvidia, HPE, and Oracle, we build intelligent infrastructure that drives tangible impact at the tactical edge.
Position Overview
We are seeking a bold, technical, and process-driven Staff Recruiter to take full ownership of our full-cycle talent acquisition mechanics. In this high-impact execution track, you will design, deploy, and scale sourcing and hiring architectures across specialized technical and non-technical fields—with an aggressive focus on sourcing engineering, infrastructure, AI/ML, product, and forward-deployed defense technology roles. Serving as an elite talent advisor, you will partner directly alongside executive leadership to navigate highly competitive, cleared national security talent ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Recruitment Excellence: Lead end-to-end recruitment pipelines across highly technical domains, ensuring predictable hiring timelines and unmatched candidate quality levels.
- Executive Advisory Partnership: Work directly with founders, engineering executives, and hiring managers to calibrate advanced candidate profiles, define hiring roadmap priorities, and influence organizational design decisions.
- Strategic Sourcing Frameworks: Develop and execute aggressive outbound sourcing strategies to uncover and engage specialized talent within highly competitive, government-adjacent markets.
- Talent Telemetry & Metrics: Own core recruiting metrics—closely tracking pipeline health indices, conversion rates, time-to-fill tracking logs, and continuous operational efficiency indicators.
- Operational Infrastructure Scaling: Systematically optimize candidate communication standards, ATS interview loops, structured calibration templates, and internal analytics reporting frameworks.
- Compensation Architecture & Closing: Partner with finance and HR stakeholders to masterfully navigate complex equity conversations, relocation considerations, and final competitive offer negotiations.
- Employer Brand Advocacy: Craft compelling external technical messaging and talent marketing content to articulate Legion’s deep mission and architectural engineering challenges effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Significant, demonstrable track record executing full-cycle technical recruiting processes for deeply technical profiles (Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, AI/ML models, or Cyber Security).
- Proven capacity to close high-impact, difficult searches and independently manage volatile hiring demands inside early-stage, fast-paced startup or defense-tech environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication mechanics, capable of interacting confidently across all levels of technical and administrative sophistication.
- Strong operational mindset with the ability to construct structured procedures and frameworks where limited recruitment infrastructure exists.
- Advanced experience navigating compensation discussions, cross-offers, and complex candidate motivations to close senior technical talent.
- Location Context: 100% remote working infrastructure flexibility open to qualified talent acquisition professionals operating within the United States.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Direct professional experience recruiting within AI software development or national security tech fields.
- Familiarity navigating cleared defense engineering hiring environments, including sourcing candidates holding active government security clearances (SECRET, TS/SCI).
- Conversational technical fluency regarding modern computing concepts, distributed database systems, cloud infrastructure networks, and developer tooling layers.
- Hands-on familiarity designing recruitment marketing strategies or applicant tracking system (ATS) automation loops.
What We Offer
- Base Compensation Range: $160,000 – $205,000 USD per annum (Final salary allocations are highly competitive and calibrated based on expertise and location parameters).
- 100% remote-first workspace freedom within an outcome-driven, mission-centric engineering culture.
- Seamless application screening optimization processed directly through advanced Greenhouse ATS nodes.
- The opportunity to play a fundamental role in scaling the human capital of a high-growth Department of Defense technology collaborator.
