About the Role: Mozilla Corporation, the non-profit-backed technology company behind Firefox, is looking for a Senior Staff Mixed Methods User Researcher. You will champion human-centered exploration of complex problems, using evidence, data, and insight to drive decision-making. You will lead both evaluative and foundational studies, translating findings into actionable insights that shape product and design strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the most complex, ambiguous, and high-stakes research studies to directly shape product vision at the organizational level.
  • Drive user-centered decision-making at the executive level, influencing directors and VPs.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, design, engineering, and data science to identify high-impact research opportunities.
  • Integrate diverse data sources (qualitative, quantitative, behavioral) to build evidence-based perspectives on user experience.
  • Leverage AI tools thoughtfully across the research workflow and define standards for responsible AI use in research.
  • Elevate the research practice by setting methodological bars and mentoring researchers across the team.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of applied research work experience, including strategic research leadership, with at least 6 years in the tech/SaaS industry.
  • Deep expertise in qualitative methods (e.g., interviews, concept testing, usability studies) and quantitative approaches (e.g., survey design, data analysis).
  • Extensive experience leading both evaluative and generative research across the product development lifecycle.
  • Exceptional judgment in setting research priorities and making trade-offs across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Deep, current knowledge of AI tools used in research workflows and the ability to evaluate outputs critically.
  • A collaborative communication style skilled at building cross-functional partnerships.
