Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, commercially-minded Sr. Specialist MCM Business Development to join our core regional Mastercard Commerce Media (MCM) division in a full-time remote capacity within Italy. Reporting directly to the Regional Lead and working in lockstep with global product partners, you will claim individual commercial accountability for leading advertiser development and sourcing scalable merchant rewards inside your territory. Shifting completely away from traditional account maintenance or basic retail merchant indexing, you will drive the entire business development pipeline from original cold lead prospecting, qualifying, and high-stakes pitching down to closing enterprise contracts. This high-agency seat demands a seasoned digital advertising specialist who speaks the native language of martech ecosystems, handles card-linked offers (CLO) fluidly, and manages extensive multi-tier aggregator partnerships under tight performance baselines.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Funnel Advertiser Sales Leadership: Drive the complete enterprise business development pipeline, hunting for high-value brands and converting outbound merchant sales efforts into active closed-won partnerships.
- Card-Linked Offer Ecosystem Control: Design and scale merchant incentive programs, structuring and deploying value-driven digital campaigns natively utilizing Sales Representative frameworks specifically for card-linked offers (CLO).
- Affiliate Architecture and Network Growth: Formulate and manage multi-region channel models, establishing, negotiating, and onboarding brand networks natively utilizing Affiliate Marketing structures and local aggregator groups.
- Strategic Product Roadmap Synchronization: Align local pipeline opportunities with global product management metrics, ensuring a continuous supply of merchant offers to meet active and emerging publisher channels.
- Regional Gap Strategy Refactoring: Identify regional inventory and performance bottlenecks, developing custom direct-sales strategies and onboarding contractor forces to close network availability gaps.
- Account Management and Financial Auditing: Manage ongoing merchant relationships, leading regular performance reviews, diagnosing technical integration friction points, and tracking merchant billing streams.
- Cross-Functional Platform Reporting: Compile and evaluate extensive campaign data, formatting clear pipeline performance sheets, technical summaries, and executive decks natively utilizing Spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) alongside Microsoft Office presentation utilities.
- Corporate Asset Security Stewardship: Enforce strict confidentiality guidelines, abiding by Mastercard security regulations, completing mandatory data training, and reporting potential information infrastructure anomalies proactively.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven professional history running advanced business development, digital advertising sales, corporate martech consulting, enterprise account management, or adtech channel strategy.
- Deep, authoritative commercial understanding of incentive marketing layers, showing a production-tested track record developing campaigns natively inside Affiliate Marketing or card-linked offer (CLO) environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-tiered project lines from pipeline inception down to delivery, maintaining keen attention to operational details and data points.
- Proficient experience gathering, organizing, and evaluating extensive commercial tracking sets and pipeline matrices natively utilizing Spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and PowerPoint tools.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication traits in fluent English, with a proven capability to articulate complex commercial options and foster relationships with senior internal and external executives.
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, specifically required in fields focusing on Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, or an equivalent quantitative discipline.
- Location Context: Parameters open exclusively to qualified advertising sales directors base-stationed permanently within Italy to execute 100% remotely from home under global collaborative timelines.

- Prior commercial history operating inside a global banking workspace, transaction network provider, card issuer enterprise, or major merchant loyalty marketing agency.
