Job Description

Lower Street is a podcasting company that produces high-end shows for agencies, consultants, and enterprise companies. They focus on quality over quantity. They are looking for a Sound Designer to join their production team. Your job is not just removing "ums" and "ahs"β€”it is to take rough cuts and elevate them into highly polished, narrative-driven audio experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Production: Take rough cuts (often from Descript) and turn them into polished episodes in Pro Tools.
  • Audio Finessing: Clean up dialogue, fix pacing, and ensure technical perfection using tools like iZotope RX.
  • Creative Sound Design: Source and integrate music, create soundscapes, and mix/master the finished product to bring the content to life.
  • Workflow Management: Coordinate audio files and sessions to ensure episodes are delivered on deadline.

Requirements

  • Experience: Extensive experience editing podcasts (Narrative, Interview, Solo formats).
  • Technical Stack: Expert proficiency in Pro Tools is a must. Familiarity with iZotope RX, Ableton, and Descript is highly valued.
  • The "Ear": A great ear with the ability to mix and master your own work without supervision.
  • Environment: You must have a good listening environment and strong Wifi.

Benefits

  • Remote Freedom: Work from anywhere (Home, Studio, Yurt).
  • Equipment Budget: They provide a budget for headphones, audio gear, and software.
  • Growth: Professional development allowance for courses and books.
  • Retreats: Annual team retreats in cool locations.

Application Secret

  • Test: You MUST sneak the word 'Orange' somewhere in your application to prove you read the details.

  • Never pay for a job application.
  • Do not share sensitive bank info.
  • Verify the client before starting work.
