Solutions Architect - High-reliability FPGA and/or Software

Fidus is seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect with expertise in high-reliability FPGA and/or Software to join our global high-tech design firm. This role is crucial for designing and implementing robust, mission-critical systems for our diverse clientele. Responsibilities include leading the architectural design of complex FPGA and software solutions, ensuring high-reliability, performance, and scalability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers to translate system requirements into detailed technical specifications and architectural blueprints. This involves evaluating and selecting appropriate hardware and software technologies, defining development methodologies, and overseeing the integration and testing phases. The Solutions Architect will also be responsible for identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies, as well as mentoring junior engineers and fostering best practices in design and development. A significant part of the role involves client interaction, understanding their needs, and proposing innovative solutions that leverage cutting-edge technologies. Requirements include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or in a similar senior technical leadership role is essential, with a strong track record in high-reliability systems. Deep understanding of FPGA design principles, VHDL/Verilog, and associated toolchains is required, along with extensive software development experience in languages such as C/C++ or Python. Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded systems, and hardware-software co-design is highly desirable.
