Senior Software Engineer, Self Serve - Experimentation

Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Self-Serve team. The role will be focused within the Experimentation Platform side, where you will be responsible for extending and maintaining our internal A/B testing and metrics platforms which informs our product development process. You will work closely with data scientists and engineers to implement new experimentation methodologies, and also work on tooling to help other cross-functional teams make better data-driven decisions.
The mission of the Instacart Self Serve team is to improve the productivity of data practitioners through easy-to-use, self-serve tools. This includes our Experimentation Platform, Portal, Data Alerting System, dbt + Airflow, Semantic Layer, and data quality.
About the Job
- You will be part of a small team, with a large amount of ownership and surface area given that the tooling is used by the entire company.
- You will have the freedom to suggest and drive new initiatives.
- You are expected to mentor other team members and be a champion of engineering excellence.
- You will work closely with other teams to understand their main pain points around data and translate them into self-serve and reliable solutions.
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- Self-motivation and an enjoyment for a startup environment
- A strong sense of ownership
- Strong knowledge of common data infra technologies (Python, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt) in a production environment
- An ability to balance a sense of urgency with shipping high quality and pragmatic solutions
- Experience working with a large codebase on a cross functional team.
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Strong knowledge of React
- 5+ years of working experience in a similar field/environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, computer engineering, electrical engineering OR equivalent work experience
