Job Description
Hypercell Games is a heavyweight in the mobile gaming industry, standing behind some of the most downloaded hybrid-casual and puzzle titles on the market. We are seeking a Playable Developer to join our creative team. This is a highly technical and creative role where you will bridge the gap between Unity production projects and high-performance Cocos Creator playable ads.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Ad Creation: Build high-quality Playable Ads in Cocos Creator from scratch, handling the full gameplay loop, interactivity, UI, and final export for various ad networks.
- Asset Pipeline (Unity to Cocos): Independently extract, optimize, and prepare assets from Unity projects for use in Cocos. You must be able to optimize effectively (e.g., avoiding "render everything to video/PNG").
- Architecture & Tooling: Create and evolve a Cocos playable starter kit/template, establishing shared architecture, reusable components, and documentation to speed up production.
- Optimization: Master performance optimization for HTML5/WebGL, focusing on build size, load time, FPS, memory usage, and texture compression.
- Creative Iteration: Collaborate with User Acquisition (UA) and Creative teams to iterate on hooks, A/B variants, and first-second engagement based on performance data.
Requirements
- Tech Stack: Strong experience with Cocos Creator (Solid TypeScript/JavaScript) and a good understanding of HTML5/WebGL.
- Unity Proficiency: Experience working with Unity is required, specifically the ability to independently extract and prepare assets for playable production.
- Graphics Programming: Solid skills in both 3D (scenes, materials, lighting) and 2D (nodes, animation, state machines) specifically for WebGL environments.
- Ad Networks: Proven experience shipping playables for networks like Google Ads, Meta, Unity Ads, and AppLovin.
- Languages: Spoken and written English and Russian are required.
- Autonomy: High work autonomy; you can take ownership from asset extraction to final export without micromanagement.
Nice to Have
- Shaders: Proficiency in Shaders (Cocos Effect/Material system) and diagnosing shader-related performance issues.
- Animation: Experience with Spine or DragonBones.
- UA Knowledge: Understanding of CTR, IPM, CPI, and pacing concepts.
