About Real Chemistry: Real Chemistry is a premier, globally recognized healthcare communications powerhouse and artificial intelligence innovator dedicated to making the world a healthier place. By seamlessly blending deep scientific expertise, human-centered creativity, and AI-driven insights, we deliver a full suite of commercialization, marketing, and medical communications services to top-tier players in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Our collaborative culture is rooted in the collective belief that we are best together, driving excellence and impactful storytelling to connect clinical science with global expert and lay audiences alike.

Position Overview

We are seeking an analytically minded, strategically grounded Senior Medical Writer to join our premier Publications team within the medical communications group. In this senior technical seat, you will take full operational ownership of the end-to-end development of high-quality scientific publications across a diverse matrix of therapeutic areas. Translating complex, raw clinical and data telemetry into clear, concise, and accurate narratives, you will partner directly with elite multi-author groups, steering committees, and key account stakeholders. This track is built for a seasoned scientific communicator who can ensure rigid regulatory guidelines compliance, mentor junior writers, and shape responsible AI-enabled writing workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Publication Development: Lead the structural authoring of primary scientific publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, plain language summaries, and global congress materials.
  • Data Interpretation & Literature Review: Conduct meticulous scientific literature sweeps and data parsing to synthesize coherent storylines, advising clients and authors on strategic content approaches.
  • Rigorous Compliance Governance: Serve as the authoritative team resource on publishing standards, ensuring all deliverables strictly adhere to ICMJE and GPP 2022 guidelines alongside journal-specific frameworks.
  • Author & Committee Coordination: Own external steering committee engagements, managing kickoff briefings, content tracking reviews, and consensus-building processes across decentralized multi-author cohorts.
  • AI-Assisted Writing Workflows: Thoughtfully apply and evaluate advanced AI-enabled literature processing, content creation, and analytics tools in line with company responsible-use baselines.
  • Junior Team Mentorship: Provide structured technical coaching, detailed peer reviews, and onboarding support to junior writers, enforcing exceptional quality checkpoints on all outgoing team assets.
  • Cross-Functional Strategic Syncing: Partner closely with Account, Strategy, and Scientific Leads to define content trajectories and support scoped new business development initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional history operating in medical communications, with a dedicated focus of at least 2 years explicitly running **scientific and clinical publications pipelines** (agency environment strongly preferred).
  • An **Advanced Degree in life sciences or a healthcare-related field** (PhD, PharmD, or MD highly preferred; MS or MPH with outstanding relevant publication exposure safely considered).
  • Proven track record independently leading the development of primary manuscripts, abstracts, and global congress submissions (e.g., ASCO, ASH, ESMO, AHA, ACR).
  • Deep technical understanding of data visualization rules, journal submission mechanisms, and clinical indexing variables.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation mechanics, with the confidence to consult directly with senior authors and pharmaceutical clients.
  • Location Context: Flexible 100% remote-first parameters anywhere within the **United States**, or hybrid alignment matching our office nodes (NYC, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Carmel, or Lambertville) under our Real HART approach.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior experience tracking and actively shaping the optimization, validation, and continuous alignment of AI workflows in peer-reviewed scientific publishing spaces.
  • Multidisciplinary background managing complex timelines across overlapping therapeutic account portfolios.

What We Offer

  • Targeted Annual Base Salary Range: $90,000 – $100,000 USD, calibrated fairly based on work experience, technical certifications, and local geographical metrics.
  • The exceptional professional canvas to directly direct and scale the global evidence-based data strategy for world-renowned life science and biotech giants.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance options paired with retirement savings support structures.
  • Generous holiday schedules, paid time off, mental wellness coaching infrastructure, and unlimited access to over 13,000 continuous classes via LinkedIn Learning.
