Position Overview

We are seeking a highly sophisticated, security-first Senior Manager, Security & IT Operations to lead our unified Security and IT Operations divisions in a full-time, 100% remote capacity within the United States. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will claim absolute daily operational and budget management authority over a high-performing organization of seven direct reports spanning security engineering and helpdesk staff. Moving far beyond abstract oversight, you will act as a primary technical leader, designing and deploying a 6-12 month strategic roadmap that seamlessly integrates Corporate Security (CorpSec), Product Security (ProdSec), and continuous Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) models. This high-agency role demands a seasoned technology director who can confidently lead incident response runbooks, orchestrate multi-tenant identity ecosystems, and guide the safe, effective use of AI developer tooling to build scalable automation layers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Security Roadmap Delivery: Turn high-level security objectives into actionable engineering roadmaps equipped with clear milestones, metrics, and assignment matrices across CorpSec and ProdSec.
  • Continuous GRC Governance: Own the corporate GRC portfolio, transforming SOC 2 compliance parameters into a rigorous, ongoing operational discipline rather than a simple periodic audit event.
  • Product Security Collaboration: Partner directly alongside internal Product and Backend Engineering squads to embed secure development lifecycle (SDLC) controls natively into the software shipping pipeline.
  • Incident Response & Runbook Architecture: Act as the principal escalation commander for live threats, establishing robust runbooks, escalation paths, and comprehensive post-incident reviews to continuously strengthen corporate defenses.
  • Enterprise Endpoint Strategy: Oversee distributed hardware lifecycles, configuration patch compliance matrices via Automox, and automated zero-touch device provisioning loops across mixed macOS and Windows fleets.
  • Identity & Access Instrumentation: Command the global Identity and Access Management (IAM) infrastructure, directing multi-tier provisioning workflows, group policies, multi-factor authentication (MFA) enforcement, and routine access reviews.
  • Automated Scripting & AI Calibration: Leverage next-generation AI coding engines to build and maintain automated workflow scripts natively utilizing PowerShell, Bash, and Python, while reviewing all outputs for absolute security correctness before deployment.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment Loops: Partner cross-functionally with DevOps, People Operations, and Finance cells to orchestrate SaaS application rollouts, large-scale cloud migrations, and software license rationalization tracks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of verified professional history running advanced security engineering, IT infrastructure management, systems operations, or cloud data security architectures.
  • 3+ years of direct people management history coaching engineering squads, IT helpdesk operators, and cross-functional technical cells.
  • Proven background running hands-on SOC 2 compliance audits and commanding real-world, high-stakes incident response tracks.
  • Technical mastery operating modern Identity Providers (IdP), Mobile Device Management (MDM) suites, collaboration hubs, source control systems, and Linux server operating system structures.
  • Demonstrated capability to write, audit, and sign off on technical automation scripts written in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication mechanics, with an absolute capacity to lead difficult performance conversations, resolve alignment conflicts, and distill risk data clearly to c-suite executives.
  • Hiring Constraint Framework: Ability to pass complete federal, state, and county background checks, alongside a local in-person verification check (Note: We do not currently hire within California or the New York metro region).
  • Location Context: Full-time remote parameters open exclusively to qualified operations leaders permanently based in the United States, with preferred strategic talent clusters located in Austin, TX, Denver, CO, or Tampa, FL.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

  • Prior experience directing security operations natively within a high-concurrency B2B Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) enterprise or specialized cloud infrastructure provider.
  • Practical familiarity navigating resource provisioning dashboards inside AWS, GCP, or multi-tenant cloud storage layers.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity defense metrics, automated vulnerability scanning tools, or advanced secrets management vaults.

What We Offer

  • Comprehensive Calibrated Total Rewards: An attractive annual base salary range calibrated between $160,000 – $190,000 USD, supplemented by target performance bonuses, flexible PTO, and valuable corporate stock equity.
  • The exceptional professional canvas to directly direct, program, and expand the underlying IT and security frameworks backing an award-winning endpoint management leader.
  • Profound work-from-home remote parameters offering high lifestyle flexibility, complete internet connectivity reimbursements ($50/month), and a $500 home workspace setup stipend.
  • 100% Employer-Paid Protections: Complete corporate coverage for short-term/long-term disability insurances and life insurance tracking paths at 100%, alongside monthly HSA company contributions ($100-$200/month).
  • Access to a company-matched 401(k) structure, a $25/month lifestyle spending account, family planning coverage on the Meritian Medical plan, and a $10,000 corporate adoption benefit.
