Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Discover / RecSys)

Circle, the world's leading all-in-one platform for online communities, is building a game-changing "Discovery Marketplace". Think of a Pinterest or Instagram-style feed, but designed to help people achieve goals rather than doom-scroll. They are looking for a Senior ML Engineer to build the recommendation engine that powers this feed, partnering directly with the CEO and co-founders.

Key Responsibilities

• Build the Feed: Help build the core recommendation engine that powers how consumers find creators, products, and communities.
• Full-Cycle ML: Design, implement, and iterate on large-scale ML systems—from embeddings and ranking models to experimentation frameworks.
• Strategic Impact: Partner closely with Circle’s CEO to execute a vision that redefines discovery in the creator economy.
• Optimization: Obsess over the craft and performance of algorithms to ensure high-quality decisions that unlock transformational consumer experiences.
• System Design: Use strong backend and data engineering skills to productionize ML models.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years focused on Machine Learning, Data, or Recommendation Systems.
• Domain Expertise: Experience building or scaling feeds, ranking systems, or large-scale consumer-facing ML products.
• Engineering Chops: Strong proficiency in backend and data engineering (System Design to Production).
• Language: Proficient in English (spoken/written) at a CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5.
• Mindset: Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity; able to learn fast and experiment aggressively.
