Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Applications)

SmithRx is a venture-backed Health-Tech company disrupting the PBM sector. We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist / ML Engineer with expertise in Generative AI to drive innovation. You will work customer-facing as well as on internal tooling, defining new GenAI capabilities that help members make better decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• GenAI Solutions: Design Generative AI solutions, such as information retrieval (RAG) and summary generation for support/operations.
• Application Development: Partner with Software Engineering teams to build and deploy GenAI applications (not just models, but full apps).
• Model Optimization: Experience with training and fine-tuning LLMs, including hyperparameter tuning for task generalization.
• Prompt Engineering: Utilize prompt engineering and few-shot techniques to enhance LLM performance.
• Agentic AI: Design and implement LLM-powered agents, tools, and orchestration approaches.

Requirements

• Education: MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or Robotics (Strongly emphasized).
• Experience: 5+ years in data science and AI development with proven success leading initiatives.
• Math Foundation: Strong mathematical background (linear algebra, calculus, probability).
• Tech Stack: Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, Transformers, and LangChain.
• Techniques: Applied ML experience (Regression, Classification) plus deep understanding of GPT, VAE, and GANs.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Mixture of Experts (MoEs) and adapters.
• Experience with Reinforcement Learning (RLHF) for fine-tuning.
• Time series analysis and multivariate modeling.
