Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Agentic AI)

Federato is the industry's first "RiskOps" platform, backed by the venture arms of Salesforce and Zoom. They are using AI to fix the broken underwriting process in the insurance industry. They are looking for a Senior ML Engineer to move beyond simple chatbots and build Agentic Flows. You will design autonomous agents that can triage submissions, predict risks, and automate decision-making for underwriters. This is a role for an engineer who wants to build AI that does work, rather than just talking about it.

Key Responsibilities

• Agentic AI Development: Develop and implement agentic flows to automate submission intake and underwriting decision-making.
• LLM Benchmarking: Lead the design of benchmarking frameworks to measure latency, predictive accuracy, and reliability of Large Language Models.
• System Architecture: Build modular, reusable model architectures and training routines that allow for rapid experimentation across different insurance use cases.
• Innovation: Research and implement novel ML models to optimize for performance and coverage, translating research into production-ready solutions.
• MLOps Collaboration: Work with Data Engineers and MLOps teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment in cloud environments.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years total in Machine Learning, with a strict requirement of 2+ years specifically designing and fine-tuning LLMs in real-world applications.
• Generative AI: Proven experience designing scalable architectures for modern Generative Models and Agents.
• Evaluation: Hands-on experience with model experimentation, monitoring drift, and ensuring generalization.
• Communication: Ability to convey complex modeling trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders (Insurance executives).
