Position Overview
We are seeking a high-agency, tech-forward Senior Indirect Tax Compliance Analyst to join our centralized Finance team. Reporting directly to the Multinational Tax Manager, you will assume absolute end-to-end ownership of global indirect tax compliance frameworks across the United States, Canada, and selected international jurisdictions (EMEA and APAC) within a hyper-growth SaaS ecosystem. This role demands an analytical professional capable of managing dynamic taxability rules, hardening internal controls, and orchestrating scalable automated upgrades inside our core accounting technology platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Global Compliance Governance: Own and drive end-to-end indirect tax lifecycles, spanning US Sales and Use Tax (SUT), Canadian GST/HST, and EMEA/APAC VAT processes, including proactive nexus evaluations, threshold monitoring, and filing execution.
- SaaS Taxability Advisory: Continuously research, map, and update transaction taxability guidance parameters for Software-as-a-Service architecture variants as our product catalog evolves.
- Tax Engine Configuration: Oversee transaction tax logic pipelines, manage exemption certificate databases, and monitor transaction rate accuracy layouts within Avalara systems.
- Financial Reconciliation & Controls: Perform rigorous monthly tax accruals, execute quarterly account ledger reconciliations, and maintain comprehensive supporting data to uphold Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and audit readiness.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely across internal Billing, Legal, Accounting, and enterprise Sales divisions to ensure compliant transactional designs for product launch rollouts and net-new go-to-market decisions.
- AI-Driven Automation Workflow: Design and pilot process optimization models, incorporating advanced AI-enabled data parsing tools to automate manual tax processing loops and minimize compliance exposure.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated professional tracking background directly managing full-cycle multi-jurisdictional indirect tax compliance structures at a global technology or cloud SaaS enterprise.
- Hands-on production proficiency operating and configuring enterprise financial tax tools, explicitly including **Avalara, NetSuite, and Zuora**.
- Deep, structural mastery over automated balance ledger sheet analysis, account reconciliation mechanics, and internal financial control standards.
- Proven capacity to manage multiple continuous compliance cycles and parallel timelines autonomously within a lean team structure.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a native ability to articulate complex, highly technical tax regulations clearly to multi-disciplinary business partners.
- Relevant educational background or transferable experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or financial planning analysis.
- Location Context: 100% remote-first asynchronous workspace flexibility open to qualified compliance analysts based anywhere within India.
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Active professional accounting certifications (such as CA, CPA, or an equivalent regional accounting credential) or advanced academic tax specializations.
- Prior experience navigating asynchronous engineering or project tools inside highly distributed international remote frameworks.
What We Offer
- The exceptional runway to direct global finance compliance tracks for an industry-shaping open-source developer technology enterprise.
- Highly competitive global compensation packages supplemented by corporate equity stock options allocations and Employee Stock Purchase Plans (ESPP).
- Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO) frameworks designed to promote true work-life balance parameters.
- Generous annual Growth and Development Funds to sponsor advanced educational courses, certifications, and technical seminars.
- Dedicated home office hardware allowance and ergonomic workspace setup support stipends.
- Highly inclusive paid parental leave frameworks alongside vibrant Team Member Resource Groups.
