About Coder: Coder is an elite AI software development company leading the future of autonomous engineering. We empower teams to build software faster, more securely, and at scale through the native collaboration of AI coding agents and human developers. Our self-hosted AI Development Environments provide secure, policy-driven workspaces to deploy enterprise-grade agentic AI ecosystems globally.

Position Overview

Coder is building out its international People function ahead of the launch of our London entity this summer. As a foundational hire, you will be the first dedicated People Operations presence in the UK, responsible for running the day-to-day employee experience for our London team and international talent across global Employer of Record (EOR) structures. As the entity matures, this role is explicitly expected to transition into the People Lead for the UK and EMEA regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • International Operations Anchor: Serve as the main HR point of contact for employees across the UK and distributed global EOR frameworks.
  • Entity Infrastructure Setup: Partner alongside legal, finance, and cross-functional HRBPs to build out a compliant UK employment framework (contracts, statutory entitlements, Right to Work protocols) from the ground up.
  • Onboarding & Contract Administration: Own the execution of localized offer letters, compliance checks, data entry pipelines, and international team onboarding workflows.
  • HRIS System Governance: Manage and secure localized global data records across modern international HR platforms (such as Rippling and Deel) to ensure pristine data audits.
  • Compliance Subject Matter Expert: Advise US-based HR leadership on UK and regional European labor regularities, proactively flagging cross-border employee relations risks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of dedicated professional experience within HR operations or People functions, with substantial time spent handling UK and/or international labor setups.
  • Hands-on system usage and administrative familiarity with global platforms like Rippling and Deel.
  • Robust, working mastery of UK employment laws (contracts, statutory leave, right-to-work laws, termination workflows).
  • Comfort operating with extreme autonomy as the standalone initial People operator within the UK workspace.
  • Excellent cross-functional alignment capacity to coordinate effectively with US-based human resources teams across varying time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting a growing tech company through a formal regional legal entity or corporate hub launch.
  • Exposure to broader EMEA employment laws and compliance parameters outside of the United Kingdom.
  • Background working within high-growth startups, ideally in a technical software or enterprise SaaS ecosystem.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: £74,000 - £100,000 per year (Position leveled as P4).
  • Eligible to participate in corporate bonus plans and company equity option components.
  • Comprehensive health, workplace support allowances, and streamlined vacation provisions.
  • 100% remote working infrastructure within the United Kingdom.
