Senior Frontend Engineer (Design Systems & React)

SkyCell AG is on a mission to revolutionize the global pharmaceutical supply chain by making it safer, more secure, and sustainable. We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to take a lead role in building and evolving our Shared Design Library—a core set of reusable React components and design tokens that power our cutting-edge applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design System Leadership: Lead the implementation of a Shared Design Library with reusable React components, design tokens (colors, typography), and UX patterns.
• Architecture & Governance: Define naming conventions, versioning strategy, theming, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Documentation: Set up and maintain component documentation using Storybook and MDX with live examples.
• Testing Strategy: Define and implement testing frameworks, including component unit tests, visual regression, and accessibility checks.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product Designers and QA to translate guidelines into tokenized, testable components.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development.
• Tech Stack: Expert proficiency in TypeScript, modern JavaScript, and the React ecosystem (hooks, context).
• Design Systems: Proven experience designing or contributing to a design system or shared component library (tokens, theming, accessibility).
• Tooling: Proficient with Git, npm/yarn, and modern frontend tooling; experience integrating libraries into CI/CD pipelines.
• Best Practices: Solid understanding of responsive design, web security, performance, and accessibility.
