The Role
We are looking for a Senior Economy Designer to own the design, modelling, and balancing of Midnite’s player economies and reward systems. You will shape core systems such as XP, rewards, bonuses, and progression loops, ensuring they remain engaging for users while maintaining long-term economic stability and sustainability aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and continuously optimize core economy systems including XP, rewards, progression, and multiple player currencies.
- Build forecasting models and simulations using SQL and Python to evaluate player behavior and economy health before launch.
- Monitor live economy performance to identify imbalances, exploitative behaviors, and opportunities for engagement improvement.
- Partner with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to implement and scale economy systems across the platform.
- Utilize data, experimentation, and player insight to influence long-term economy strategy and product decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in economy design, data science, or applied economics (ideally in gaming or betting).
- Strong analytical and quantitative modelling skills (simulation, forecasting, or probabilistic systems).
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and modelling.
- Deep understanding of experimentation and data-driven iteration.
- Ability to combine player intuition with rigorous mathematical analysis.
- Background in Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
