Senior Director, Market Access
Job Description
The Opportunity
Praxis is seeking a bold, analytical builder to serve as Senior Director of Market Access. This is not a policy or oversight role. We’re seeking a person who is ready to roll up their sleeves and build Market Access infrastructure from the ground up across two distinct launches within the next 12 – 15 months. You'll support the launches of Ulixacaltamide (a large-market, Medicare-heavy asset in Essential Tremor), and Relutrigine (an ultra-rare, pediatric, Medicaid-heavy asset).
You will lead strategy and execution across pricing, contracting, evidence generation, and payer engagement. The role requires someone comfortable defending value in front of leadership, owning deliverables under pressure, and shaping governance with a small, fast-moving team. The ideal candidate is a high-output operator with deep curiosity, sharp judgment, and the ability to move from insight to action – fast.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own and execute U.S. pricing strategy including analog analysis, GTN modeling, value defense, and scenario planning.
- Develop actionable contracting strategies (Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial), in close coordination with Finance, Trade, and Legal.
- Drive HEOR and value story development, including burden of disease, cost-offset, and payer-relevant evidence to support access and reimbursement.
- Lead key Market Access governance processes, including pricing committee workflows, PIE timelines, and contracting review forums.
- Develop foundational payer engagement tools including AMCP dossiers, policy intelligence, and payer materials for use in pre- and post-launch.
- Conduct and synthesize competitive and policy intelligence, including FOIA scans, Medicaid policy analysis, and payer environment.
- Serve as Market Access lead on cross-functional workstreams, contributing strategic insight and executional muscle across Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Program Teams.
Qualifications and Key Success Factors
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, public health, or science strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of biotech/pharma or consulting experience with recent hands-on focus in U.S. market access. Global experience a plus but not required.
- Direct launch experience in both rare and common disease indications. Prior work with Medicaid-heavy and Medicare-heavy assets is essential.
- Demonstrated strength in building market access infrastructure, not just managing it, especially in lean or resource-constrained environments.
- Strong analytical and strategic chops, able to self-structure, distill complexity, and make recommendations with incomplete data.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills; capable of making a compelling, data-driven case to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- High bias for action, with the judgment to balance autonomy and alignment in a fast-paced, feedback-rich environment.
- Deep alignment with Praxis values of Trust, Ownership, Curiosity, and Results.
