Job Description

Apollo.io is a leading B2B sales intelligence platform with a database of 250M+ contacts, backed by Y Combinator and profitable. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to take leadership in designing and scaling our core infrastructure that will lay the foundation for the company for the next decade. You will work heavily with Ruby on Rails, Mongo, and ElasticSearch in a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Scaling: Design, build, and scale backend software services for a distributed, high-availability architecture using modern backend languages.
  • Automation: Use automation and configuration management tools (Terraform) to provision hosts in cloud hosting platforms (GCP).
  • Security: Implement and scale enterprise-level security infrastructure.
  • On-Call: Participate in an on-call rotation to troubleshoot performance and operational challenges alongside the development team.
  • Data Pipelines: Manage multi-terabyte level database systems and build data pipelines to analyze product usage.

Requirements

  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in systems engineering and software development.
  • Core Stack: Strong experience with Kubernetes (Must-Have), Terraform, Docker, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Databases: Well-versed with MongoDB or ElasticSearch.
  • Coding: Experience in Software Development is required, preferably in Ruby on Rails or Python.
  • Systems: Experience with Distributed Systems, fault-tolerant architectures, and Linux (Ubuntu).

  • Security: Understanding of best security practices.
  • Architecture: Experience setting up entire architectures from scratch.
