Senior Data Scientist

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to help develop scoring models for underbanked consumers using diverse alternative data sets (mobile, utility, transactional).

Responsibilities

• Develop ML models for Risk, Fraud, Collections, and portfolio management.
• Build accurate, automated monitoring tools to track model and rule performance.
• Design model deployment platforms to shorten implementation cycles for new models.
• Create end-to-end reusable pipelines from data acquisition to delivery.
• Lead initiatives with Compliance, Bank Partners, and Model Risk Management for governance and validation.
• Optimize marketing spend by predicting consumer interest in credit-building products.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, CS, Economics, or a quantitative discipline.
• 3+ years of experience building reusable data pipelines and leveraging modern ML toolsets.
• Expertise in Gradient Boosting, Logistic Regression, and Neural Networks.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL (Spark SQL or Hive).
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS EMR or SageMaker is a plus.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Familiarity with HDFS, Hive, and Shell scripting is highly desirable.
